I was really excited to have a channel lock screw driver after using the same couple pair of channel locks for years, but the thing really is junk.

Many reviews state that screwdriver broke on first use. So, this is really a 3 piece set.

Are these not the quality they used to be? Lost track of my dad's old set from the 80's or 90's but it was good.

I'm sure the quality is fine, but the design is quite outdated. Knipex greatly improved on this style of plier, and the knockoffs are available now from Irwin, Husky, etc for affordable prices.

the ones from Husky/Lowes generic brand suck!
the 'gears' stripped easily. (no idea what they are officially called.)

channelock brand works great!

Got this a couple years back, screwdriver has been fine. However, lots of surface rust on the pliers. Still work fine, but unless you keep a light coat of oil on them, expect some surface rust.

The knockoffs suck and Knipex pliers are $40+ a pop so you can't compare those to this $24 deal.

The big 440s, alone, sell for $18. Looks like Amazon already OOO, and shipping in 1 to 2 months. This is an awesome deal for high quality American made pliers if you need them... or even if you just want to keep a second set somewhere. As a comparison, similar Knipex brand pliers (non-Cobra) sell for more than this for a single mid size plier.

Just checked, and 10 in Knipex alligators (standard) sell for $21.30. So, one 10 in standard Knipex pliers sells for a bit less than this 3 pc set with the larger 12 in pliers.
