Would this be a good introduction to the air fryer craze?

If you only want an intro. This thing is pretty small and everything is manual (no presets for what you're cooking). Philips did introduce the whole air frying concept and their air fryers are consistently rated as one of the top. They use a mesh rack and a star shape on the bottom to distribute air flow better. Costco has the digital version for $129.99 right now I believe.

Some potential issues besides size capacity include cleaning the mesh, volume, and no auto stop when pulling basket out.

How big actually is this? Like, if I wanted to make a single serve of french fries, how many batches would I need to cook it in?

2.75 qt and you can't really pile it on as the ones in the middle won't get crispy. Will probably make a single serving per batch at around 15 min to cook each batch (from frozen).
