Yes, the dead-power issue is substantial, but it seems like they've figured it out/fixed it now. There are still a couple reports of new-as-refurbished units failing early in life, but Epson has been very good with replacements. I put in my order. I've been waffling between this and a new 3200. The 3200 adds the 4k/60/HDR mode, but save for gaming there are few uses right now (and in the foreseeable future for me personally). I suspect I can live without HDR gaming in return for a projector that's s half as noisy and has substantially better contrast.

So I was tired of missing out on the deal every time it went out of stock. I wrote a simple powershell script to check to see if it's in stock and then created a scheduled task to run it every half hour. Lo and behold the first time it ran, it was back in stock and I snagged it. Including powershell script for anyone technical enough to use it. Use powershell at your own risk.

$epson= Invoke-WebRequest -Uri https://epson.com/Clearance-Cente...1H713020-N
Add-Type -AssemblyName System.Windows.Forms
If ($epson.RawContent -notlike '*out of stock*'){ [System.Windows.Forms.MessageBox]::Show('In Stock!')}

This just shows a popup when it's in stock. You could modify it to send you an e-mail instead.
