This is a pretty fun game and a good price for it. It's a nice little way to jump into a space shooter. I like the ability to progress your ships and skills/equipment each play through. You'll start off rough at first but as you accumulate skills and upgrades the game becomes massively easier - especially once you by the gunship. Like all games of this variety, it does eventually get grindy.

My biggest complaint is just the choice of XBOX controller mapping on PC - you can't really remap all the movement controls and the way that you rise/lower your ship (straight up or straight down) on controller wasn't intuitive for me. If you plan to use M+KB, not an issue for you but the built-in controller mapping was a little fatiguing for me.

My second complaint is that I don't like that the game "forces" you to leave the sector by having a bunch of enemies arrive if you spend too long there. I don't like this only because I liked trying to explore every nook and cranny of the sector.

My third complaint was lack of a dedicated radar made it hard to keep track of enemies that fly out of your field of view. While the game does have indicators at the edge of your screen, they can sometimes be hard to see because of the cockpit and other parts of the UI. It was easy for a marker to get "lost" amongst everything else going on. I would have preferred an enclosed radar screen like what is used in traditional old school space sims.

Despite any flaws though, I easily burned a couple dozen hours on this for the price is still a bargain and I would recommend it.

Quick note - this game is part of XBOX Game Pass right now. So if you have that and want to play right away there isn't a need to buy it until it drops off Game Pass.

One of my favorite games. I love space combat and rogue-likes and this checks both boxes.

With game pass its only 20% off $23.99
I should have been more specific - Everspace is included with "Xbox Game Pass Ultimate" right now. You can play it for free right now with Ultimate. The $23.99 price you are seeing is only if you want to buy it to keep.

You guys prefer playing this with a joystick? Or mouse and keyboard? Just grabbed it - seems to evoke memories of Wing Commander!!! LOL

Is it easier control wise on PC with Mouse+Keyboard versus an Xbox One controller? I have Ultimate.
