New 4K TV Buying Advice

10 10 January 7, 2020 at 07:05 AM
I'm in the market for a new TV. It would be in the 49-55" size range.

I'm interested in having things like QLED technology, some kind of HDR support, good (120) refresh rate for sports and some gaming. Basically, I want something better than a basic LED unit.

Of course, I'm looking at the Samsung (Q60 or Q70 series) and the Vizio (M and P series). I see that TCL gets some love on the review sites but I'm a little concerned about their support and reliability since I don't know anything about that brand.

Does anyone have any advice or recommendations? I'd also like to get a decent sale price, but it doesn't have to be blazing hot. Will these kinds of sets be highly discounted for the Super Bowl sales in a few weeks or is it safe to buy now?

Thanks!

What are you using to drive your media (should make a big difference in your decision)?

Primarily it will be cable box and Chromecast via HDMI connections. Also have an XBox One S that I may connect.
