My direct deposit is $1765 bi-monthly or $3530 per month. Any idea how to get to 5k per month besides a new job?

It should not be from your own account. It should be from any 3rd party. So spouse account deposit qualifies.

To qualify for an HSBC Premier relationship, you need to open an HSBC Premier checking account and maintain balances of $75,000 in combined U.S. Dollar personal deposit accounts and investment balances* OR recurring direct deposits totaling at least $5,000 from a third party to an HSBC Premier checking account(s) per calendar month OR an HSBC U.S. residential mortgage loan with an original loan amount of at least $500,000. Business owners may use their qualifying HSBC U.S. Dollar commercial balances to qualify for a personal Premier relationship. A monthly maintenance fee of $50 will be incurred if one of these requirements is not maintained.
It's worth mentioning the fees in case someone forgets to deposit the money each month.

The account is not for people who cannot deposit 5000 for 3 consecutive months.
If you deposit 5K 3 months no fee you will get 475. If you cannot deposit 5K, forget it.

Yes. One condition is ACH Direct Deposit should be from 3rd party accounts not from your own account.

My reading of the poster's question was that both spouses would have their direct deposits put into the same account to hit the $5k/month threshold.
