As others have mentioned, there is a fully functional web interface available for almost anything you could hope to do with a router (port forwarding, qos, etc).

Yeah, the phone app is limited, don't expect the app to do anything more than the most simple tasks.

I have the ac3000 setup running in my house - its a solid solution. Additional satellites are stupid expensive though. If you plan on extending it, it might be worth looking into other options. Each consumer grade "mesh" networking setup has its own pros and cons so do your homework or just plan on returning them until you find one that works best for your layout.

Be careful if you have Ooma for your VOIP. Never got this to play nicely with our Ooma base station and had to return it. Went with Google Wifi instead.
Ooma works fine with my orbi system

Can all three run from Ethernet flawlessly as a mesh network?

That's what I like about Velop, but want to try one with better range.

Mesh is needed for WiFi calling, so APs don't work for everyone.
Yes. I have that setup and it works fine. This is better than velop any day!

Can these be wired together? I have a long run and dont want to depend on the signal through multiple walls and floors.

Wired back-haul I mean.

This thing is trash. I had three set up in my 1500sqft home and it barely covered the house much less barely any internet in the yard.. switched to Google WiFi and only use two pucks and I have full bars in the house and to the street and to the neighbors 😂 wouldn't go back if you paid me.

Bought this last year. Best router that covers our home. Easy to use with their mobile app. Comes with a parental control set up. Best router imo

I have the original RBK50 2-pack of the Orbi's and an Ooma Telo that was probably one of the first ones they ever made.

Once in a great while I have to turn off/on the cable modem and router and I'm never sure which one has issue, but the Ooma Telo has ALWAYS worked and all I did was plug it directly into one of the Orbi's

So just saying I have definitely had a different experience than you did with Orbi and Ooma working together

Lot of interesting comments...

I just recently bought the 3 pack from Costco and have been extremely pleased. Replaced my old router, a Linksys EA 9500 with also had an add-on range extender and I can't believe how much better the coverage is. In fact, the Orbi saved me about $100 because I was having problems with one of my Honeywell WiFi thermostats that would not stay connected. I ended up buying a replacement thermostat, but it was DOA, so I put the old thermostat back and under the new Orbi system it connected fine and has worked great ever since.

I don't like to use a smart phone and an app. For my initial setup, I just connected my computer directly to the ORBI router. Default IP is 192.168.1.1 and when you get the initial login page, at the very bottom you will see something like "if you don't have a compatible smart phone, click here" (at least that is how the Costco RBK53S works. I also have an Ooma (original Core) that works fine with the Orbi

Lastly - I don't believe the ORBI is considered a true 'mesh' network. The satellites only connect to the router, not each other. And yes, you can have a wired backhaul if you want

I have also bought the RBK23 during the Amazon warehouse deal. Are you having problems with losing convection at least twice everyday for few minutes? It happens to me regularly almost everyday. Sometimes more than twice a day. I have to reboot the router almost every time this happens. I'm still not sure if it is the modem or the router. I think it is the router though. I was having issues with the T-mobile router and so I bought RBK23. I have also replaced my modem to ARRIS SB6183 along with these routers. I don't think it is the ISP which is Xfinity as I don't usually see any outages for my area on their website. Very frustrating.
Mine were annoying to set up the satellites but once I finally got them working they have been worry free.

This was true originally but they released a firmware update to make it a full mesh network.

Thanks for the reply. Maybe mine is just bad luck, I guess. I have ordered two LIKE NEW sets within few days from Amazon Warehouse deal when they had the 20% off. One from a third party and other from Amazon Warehouse. I have setup the third party one but will now try the Amazon one. Hopefully, it will solve the issue.
