You should have something small but nutritious. Like a banana. Think pre-workout fuel. Then eat a full breakfast after your workout.

I would second eggs. Avoid carbs so your body will continue to burn fat instead of carbs.

if you are only doing cardio then HIIT on an empty stomach burns the most calories because of the afterburn you achieve the rest of the day.
