I bought one to feed my hunger to have something being shipped to me.
Have been in a dry spell for almost a week.

I suppose, will find something to use them on during the next 10 years.

Did you mean 3M Dual Lock [amazon.com]? Hook and loop is still cheaper if strength-per-area isn't needed (signs) or if it needs to grab with minimal pushing (like ball targets). 3M Dual Lock is excellent though, definitely less sloppy and stronger for the size once pressed together. I'd keep some near toolboxes and workbenches but hook and loop still gets a lot of use around home, school, work.

If you did mean double sided tape, different use case. Also useful, but double sided tape is strong enough to be permanent and hard to clean off. If it was easy to peel off it's probably the wrong tape for the job (hook and loop or putty for re-attachable, stronger double sided for one-and-done). Of course, use whatever works, but if you have lots of need it's good to try a few alternatives to see what might fit better.

I bought the strip kind of this brand. Then I forgot about it and found it a year later. Adhesive was gone. Any experience with this one?

I used the strip. Attached the pointy bit to the top of the bed headboard in a long strip and then several squares of the squishy side to various remotes. Voila! And they hold! And it has been at least 2 years no need to replace either side of the sticky....

Just use a appropriate glue/adhesive and you can still use those strips

Isn't it simpler to just use 3M double sided?
