It goes on sale for $1 a box all the time locally, and I don't have to get penne.

Costco also has it for this price or less with good frequency.

Not a hot deal.
It's a good deal if you have 15% off

Barilla is bottom shelf pasta, you can get much better pasta for ~$1 a pack now at Aldi or Sams or Costco FTW.
Agreed it's American pasta buy real pasta even de cecco is close to that price and it's from Italy

Agreed, DeCeco is far superior to Barilla. Regardless of price.

You pay some convenience fee when buying online. So pretty good deal. Smilie

Tempting, but we switched to De Cecco recently and it's simply better. Because pasta is relatively cheap compared to other ingredients, the saving are just not worth it in terms of quality of the end result, IMO...
I have literally never had any pasta (not including gnocchi, ravioli, or homemade) that I have ever thought was better than another. Maybe my pallet is amateur, but throw some salt in the water and it all seems to turn out the same to me.

Try De Cecco rigatoni, or their square-cut spaghetti. Follow the instructions and you'll get that Italian al dente experience. We switched on the advice I received from someone in Italy and I wouldn't consider going back to the other brands available in our local supermarket.

If it's not the Collezione Barilla, it's not really a deal. The $1.00 pastas are all the same.
