Might be best to hold out. Picked the same model up last year (end of January) for $7.50. Plenty of stock in the stores around me currently.

agreed. $20 is about all this is worth
lots of fillers
Geez dude, if all you want is sockets then look for a socket set instead of complaining that general use tool sets include some general use tools.

Good deal but only if they're made in Taiwan. Anything Kobalt that's made in China should be avoided. Just read the back of the packaging to see country of origin.

GREAT set of sockets for $20.
The ratchet itself is crap, you have to constantly reset rotation

Don't know about the tools but case is crap. Just brought one home and latch already broke off. Still a nice set to throw in the car for $20. Less $ is better though.

I have a similar set, without the screwdriver, that I have used regularly for about the last 8 years. Bought it in high school to work on my beater, and have used it on 4 other beaters since and it hasn't let me down. At $20 this is a great buy to keep under the kitchen sink or under a back seat of your rig

$20 should be the normal msrp on this IMHO.

agree, about $20. $63 is ridiculous...
I agree too. $20 is a fair price for that. I got the Craftsman set for a lower price than this from Sears to replace the set I got from ACE hardware which has also very good quality and was about the same price. The link shows a regular price of $40 for this one though.

This is a junk set. Even $20 is pushing it. Might as well go harbor freight

Yeah the only thing going for it is how easily Lowe's swaps tools. Sometimes they just let you go and grab something comparable. I had a precision driver and they didn't have any left. they let me pick out a larger precision set with a dozen precision bits

Times have changed.... when Taiwan manufactured is at the top of the tool food chain as better than China, when Taiwan is claimed by China. But, it seems to be true... GearWrench, considered a decent tool, are, or at least were made in Taiwan. It can be confusing when an increasing number of tools from Mac and Snap-On are made in China, not Taiwan.

But, there are still USA made tools that are somewhat affordable. You might check, but I believe that S-K, now owned by Ideal, are now all made in the USA. Nevertheless, from various tests, Kobalt tools are proving to be decent and besides maybe skinned knuckles when they break, if you have a Lowes, replacement can be had.
