The rx 570 is still a great 1080p card in 2020, and will run *some* vr (I've used it on beat saber, some lighter games no issue). Considering you are getting a card for 1080p, 4gb vram is generally going to be fine.

As for this specific card, I have used 50+ rx570s and these are the second best rx570 cards, behind the sapphire nitro cards when it comes to performance and cooling. For budget builds, this is one of (if not) the best card you can buy.

Ryzen 5 1600 can be found cheap and will crush most things on 1080

If you do go with a 1600 make sure you get the 1600af model, its basically a 2600. It comes in at $85 and is a steal. amazon [amazon.com]

I see that most comments refer to this card working with an AMD processor. Will it work as well with an Intel 8th generation i5 processor? Also on many sites the reviews indicate the card dieing after a month. Is there any validity to that as generally ASUS is a good manufacturer... Thanks!

While yes y'all are correct the 1660ti (obviously) is the better card:
1) They are not in the same price range. You might as well put it against a 2080ti....lol
2) Don't use "userbenchmark" for reference. It's rubbiish as it's data is simplified omitting countless variables.
You could make a case for that... personally it seems like a better value to buy a mid-tier card for $100-$150 more for a GPU since it's the bread and butter of what a gaming PC needs. Then you won't have to buy a new card again when the next generation of more demanding games comes out.

What would you use that's a better test of performance then? You seem to be giving a lot of criticism but not saying what you would do that's better...

Keeping my fingers crossed the $100 xfx comes around this week with the same offers.

Saw this but figured it wasn't worth posting they have the sapphire pulse variant for the same price, $120.
This is one of the best coolers you're going to get on this card. I mean if you're in the market for one what else could you ask for?

because it is a pretty dated card.

If i'm correct, the updated cards out of these (the successors), are the 5700 and 5700XT models.

I've had terrible experiences with RX570's and RX580's (customer builds).

I'm quite dissapointed and am steering clear of AMD GPU's altogether.

Nobody should be paying any more than $50 for an 8 year old Video Card. I don't care if it's "NiB" this thing belongs in an antique store.
