Looks like a huge upgrade on all models. Hopefully the prices are reasonable. They really needed to overhaul their offerings, as the models currently listed on their websites some are 4 years old or older and haven't been updated, long out of production models in catalog, unlisted current models not getting attention, lack of attention of higher model upgrades, ect for a while. Hope they update the website too.

Ummm no, Eddie currently plays an EVH Wolfgang. He has played many guitars over the years including his Frankensteins that he built himself, but never an Epiphone that I am aware of.

$10 more is worth it for the better colors if you ever sell it.

Wish this clearance was for the Gibson SG standard, waiting on those to appear but knowing how tight Gibson keeps prices its a long shot.

You may still find some locally for cheap. I bought a cherry-color Gibson SG Special 2015 for $500 and re-sold it on CL for $700

I might pick this one up to play Rocksmith with on my old Playstation3. But I do wish there was a Les Paul style for this cheap Wink

If I click "see deal" it says that, but if I click the link in post, it works.

It's high time Gibson paid more attention to the Epi brand name and it's long, storied history that far outclassed it's more modern, down-market brand association. Also good to see a return of an open-book-esque headstock design instead of that corner-chopped mess few people cared for. Honestly, imo they should have just adopted a straight up copy of the Gibson open book shape, but closer is better than not at all.

I hope they pour a proper amount of money into that brand and make it stand on it's own more and more, and less of an also-ran, poly-finished clearing house of Gibson-branded models. Not that I totally object to some of the quality lower-tiered LPs, SGs, etc.. they've had some real gems at their price points, but they could and should be much more than that.

I'd pass on this one guys. I bought one a few months ago when it was on sale for $125 cause I always wanted an SG style guitar. It had fairly decent reviews on the MF and GC websites so I figured worse case scenario, I'd have a $125 guitar that would look good hanging on my wall...and that's exactly what I got. The tuners are crap plastic and contently slip and go out of tune, the pickups came off angle from the factory, and the low strings fret buzz something awful. I spent about an hour adjusting the bridge and truss rod which helped a bit, but now the string action is absurdly high and it's almost unplayable. I honestly would've returned it except MF would've made me pay return shipping. But at least it looks good on my wall...

Why didn't you return it? If it was defective they should have taken it back.
