You said a flight. A flight is just that, a single flight. If you wanted to refer to a multi flight itinerary ,you should have said a trip or similar.
LOL. No. Do people say I have a multi-flight to Bangkok? Do people say they'll be catching multi-planes to Paris? No. People say they have a flight to Bangkok. People say they have to catch a plane to Paris.

has Guangzhou airport changed recently? i had a layover there 3 years ago and it felt like a dim dungeon
This is dungeon dim? Do you want it to so blazingly bright that you need to wear a wielder's helmet?

For those that have never been to Thailand, I'd rank those locations 1. Chiang Mai 2. Phucket (and the surrounding islands) 3. Bangkok.

I was there in November and Chiang Mai was by far my favorite (best place to wash/walk with elephants), followed by the Phi Phi Islands (accessible by boat from Phucket). Bangkok was way too crowded and Phucket was ok but nothing special. The US dollar goes a long way anywhere in Thailand, $1 USD = 30 Thai Baht. Chicken Pad Thai or other Thai dishes will run you $2-3 USD. Hotels or Airbnbs are $15-40/night depending on how fancy you want to get. Loved Thailand, will definitely go back at some point.

There is a reason these prices are so low. Going through china sucks. All Chinese airlines stop in china. The processes take 3 times what other countries take and the food options are bad, unless you like pizza hut or burger king. Don't plan on using a cell phone on board because its against the law. The food is awful. wifi doesn't work in the layover terminal. The TSA equivalent in china will go through every single thing in your bag.
The law has changed and you're now allowed to use your phone on Chinese airlines. Used to be you couldn't even use it to listen to podcasts /music.

I spent a semester in college in Thailand. Thai people are the nicest in the world. Take a second to learn how to say hello with the correct intonation. And bananas if you like bananas.

I've never traveled anywhere but Thailand is somewhere I'd love to visit. Funny enough my getting to the west coast to use this deal would cost me as much as the deal haha.

This is on my bucket list tho and someday I'll get the chance!

I've flown to BKK three times and would rank the airlines I flew and the connecting cities as follows.

1. ANA Airlines Through Tokyo
2. EVA Airlines Through Taipei
3. China Southern Through Guangzhou

Good reasons to go to Thailand are culture, food, nice people. However, I've been to Khao Lak, Phuket and Ko Samui and was not impressed at all with beaches. The beach and water pictures make it all look awesome but we did not find pristine clean water or beaches. Go to Seychelles, Bahamas, ABC islands, Hawaii or Cancun if you want to swim, snorkel or scuba.

Do whatever you can to make sure your one stop is Taiwan.. If you end up stopping in China you will be held up in customs for at a very minimum 2 hrs and they will rifle though your belongings.

But I'd have to go through LAX, which is somewhat lower than third world grade. BTDT, not doing that again.
