Great 16:10 monitor if you don't need speakers or usb 3/docking station capabilities in the monitor. I have 2 of them, use them with a HDMI to DVI converter that I leave screwed in.

Once you use 16:10 for anything other than entertainment, you'll never want to go back to 16:9.

This is a phenomenal deal given how good the monitor is. If you just need a solid cheap monitor, this is exactly the one to buy. I have one at home and for a non-4K monitor, it does everything you could possibly need it to do.

Bought this monitor from a deal posted in October for the same price. I'm using it in vertical/portrait mode as a 2nd monitor for work and I've loved it and had zero problems with it.

Can I buy multiple $30s to pay for this?
Yes! I just did 3x$30 a few months ago for a hard drive with similar terms. Just make sure you select Ecertificate in the Discover app unless you want them to mail you plastic gift cards. I had to call Discover to cancel and re-redeem since i was in Staples store and didn't realize it defaulted to plastic.

Also, there was an issue with the Mobile Staples site not accepting gift cards as a form of tender, but i switched to Desktop view and that worked. I think the Staples employee said you should be able to spend either 3 or 5 gift cards on 1 transaction, so if that is true, then you can certainly do this deal with multiples, but a bigger ticket item is where you'd hit limits. I think it was 5

When you redeem Discover for Staples, you are selecting the quantity of $30 gift cards. For example if you redeem $75 Discover for $90 in Staples cards, you get 3 $30 gift cards/eCerts. However i think when i did BedBath, i used $80 in Discover to buy 1 $100 Bed Bath card. So if Staples.com still has a limit of how many cards you can redeem, you probably could not fund an entire laptop from Discover points, but this $105 monitor should be fine.

The exterior design is pretty old school. The color of the monitor is good. No HDMI. Very Thick Bezel. I totally hate the thick bezel, besides being thick, the bezel is also very deep.

Why get this over something like the Acer R240HY ($99) or the HP VH240a ($109)?

Is this monitor just crazy good as far as picture goes? It looks very dated, high response rate, no hdmi port...I'm asking because the two I mentioned above are my current monitors and wondering if I made the right choices.

It's old and thick because it is. This model first came out in 2012. That's why there's no HDMI. It's a solid monitor though. Dell UltraSharp is their top of the line models.

16:10 for this Dell vs 16:9 for those you listed. Huge amount of more real estate.

Key difference is these are 16:10 and both of yours are 16:9. May not matter to you, but it's a huge difference for some. I have had 3 of these on my desk for going on 9 years now and they are unbelievable workhorses. I paid 4x this price and it was well worth it.

I have this for many years now. It has much better picture quality than AOC C24G1. I'm only comparing these two because I have these two next to each other. The problem with Dell monitor is that it doesn't have HDMI and pictures are stretched when connected to PS4 or the switch. I know that that 16:10 is also an advantage as well that makes the monitor so great for productive purpose and watching movie with subtitles, where subtitles will be actually be below the picture. But if you are looking to connect to consoles or need higher refresh rates, you should go for something else. But again, the picture is so much better than the AOC I have. If I wanted an all capable monitor, it would just cost so much more.

Once I started using this screen ratio, I feel like everything else is cut short. This is amazing, if you do a lot of work emails, excel, etc, anything, seriously, this is amazing. It's probably not best for gaming because screen is not super bright, but seriously for work, this is a great monitor. It's ultrasharp, but don't expect really sharp image, it's matte panel, that helps avoid glare, but cuts the sharpness.

Anyway, at this price, I'd buy 4 of these if I had the space, two for each work stations.

Refresh rate might be a problem, but you are not getting this to watch 4k 60fps video, even then it's not too bad.

My only problem would probably be that I am using my old Ultrasharp's stand that you can slide up and down, this one doesn't come with one like that, does it? I think it's stationary stand?

Cross that out, this is swivel/tilt/slide up and down stand. Peace
