Bought this monitor from a deal posted in October for the same price. I'm using it in vertical/portrait mode as a 2nd monitor for work and I've loved it and had zero problems with it.

Is this monitor flicker free now? Old version definitely not. Thanks
I wonder as well. I have an old pair of the u2412Ms that I swapped out for u2415s due to PWM.

What a deal if these newer u2412Ms are PWM-free.

My only problem would probably be that I am using my old Ultrasharp's stand that you can slide up and down, this one doesn't come with one like that, does it? I think it's stationary stand?

From Dell website:
Display Position Adjustments
Height, pivot (rotation), swivel, tilt

I just checked mine, you are correct, it is the same one as my old up/down sliding stand. That stand alone is worth $30-$40 in my book. It's super handy and with a tall monitor like that you want to be able to bring it as low as possible.

I picked one up during the last Staples sale. Fantastic monitor. Dell sells a sound bar that attaches to it that works well and is really affordable on Amazon. I'm using mine mostly in portrait mode and it has become my main work monitor.

This monitor doesn't have HDMI port.
Monitors do not need an HDMI port. They use DP or DVI.

That's awesome to hear. I got curious and did some research and found another user at HardForum who tested this and also found that versions of the u2412m beginning at some point in 2015 are PWM-free. Here's the link: https://hardforum.com/threads/del...1041957730.

I have this and the newer u2415 and prefer this one, although an HDMI input would have been useful.

These are great workhorse monitors. I can't believe they are still selling them. I had a pair for about 6 years and recently updated the QHD models with thinner bezels. These are great for programming or document work and are built to weather the storm.

Yes! I just did 3x$30 a few months ago for a hard drive with similar terms. Just make sure you select Ecertificate in the Discover app unless you want them to mail you plastic gift cards. I had to call Discover to cancel and re-redeem since i was in Staples store and didn't realize it defaulted to plastic.

Also, there was an issue with the Mobile Staples site not accepting gift cards as a form of tender, but i switched to Desktop view and that worked. I think the Staples employee said you should be able to spend either 3 or 5 gift cards on 1 transaction, so if that is true, then you can certainly do this deal with multiples, but a bigger ticket item is where you'd hit limits. I think it was 5

When you redeem Discover for Staples, you are selecting the quantity of $30 gift cards. For example if you redeem $75 Discover for $90 in Staples cards, you get 3 $30 gift cards/eCerts. However i think when i did BedBath, i used $80 in Discover to buy 1 $100 Bed Bath card. So if Staples.com still has a limit of how many cards you can redeem, you probably could not fund an entire laptop from Discover points, but this $105 monitor should be fine.
Sorry I may read it wrong. How can you buy GC from Discover App? You mentioned selecting Ecertificate in the Discover app, did you mean Staples app? Thanks a lot for this info btw. appreciate it.

I was talking about the process to redeem Discover Cashback funds that I already earned and had a balance on my Discover account. Sorry if it sounded like you can just buy discounted cards... You need to have the cashback bonus already earned.
In the Discover app you go to Rewards>Redeem>Gift Cards>(scroll to or search for) Staples. Then you'll see Reward Type which is defaulted to Gift Card, but you can change the bullet to Ecertificate. On this same screen you enter the quantity (which i guess you can max out as many rewards that you have earned) and then Continue.
In my experience 20% is the best i ever saw for using Cashback Bonus... I have used them to get Shutterfly, and also BedBathBeyond which you can also spend at Harmon, BuyBuyBaby, and Christmas Tree shops.

For the first time ever, i recently saw a "limited time deal" or something like that in the Discover App for a restaurant. Might have been Cheesecake Factory or Olive Garden or Maggianos.... One of the restaurants that i usually buy around the holidays and get a bonus when buying direct from the restaurant, so I didn't pay much attention to it, but that was good to know that Discover ran deals for the gift cards that you get from redeeming your cashback bonus.

Why is that? I keep waiting for a U2415 deal but this one keeps tempting me at this price.

I already have 1 U2412M from way, way back and really like it. I'm considering buying another to replace my second monitor, the Dell U2211H, giving me matching dual monitors on my desk. Darn Slickdeals!!!! Decisions....decisions.... Smilie
