Excellent monitor. Love the 16:10 aspect ratio. Only gave mine up due to grabbing a 27" Gsync IPS gaming monitor, but I really miss the old Dell which is still serving duty on the backup machine in the basement. Amazing color and viewing angles. Still a great productivity monitor that will stomp most if not all $100 monitors.

The exterior design is pretty old school. The color of the monitor is good. No HDMI. Very Thick Bezel. I totally hate the thick bezel, besides being thick, the bezel is also very deep.
I don't understand the thumbs down for this. Perfectly valid observation/opinion. The monitor is not sleek or modern but the image quality is great and I love the extra vertical dimension. I use 2 side-by-side at work all day and they're fantastic monitors

I was talking about the process to redeem Discover Cashback funds that I already earned and had a balance on my Discover account. Sorry if it sounded like you can just buy discounted cards... You need to have the cashback bonus already earned.
In the Discover app you go to Rewards>Redeem>Gift Cards>(scroll to or search for) Staples. Then you'll see Reward Type which is defaulted to Gift Card, but you can change the bullet to Ecertificate. On this same screen you enter the quantity (which i guess you can max out as many rewards that you have earned) and then Continue.
In my experience 20% is the best i ever saw for using Cashback Bonus... I have used them to get Shutterfly, and also BedBathBeyond which you can also spend at Harmon, BuyBuyBaby, and Christmas Tree shops.

For the first time ever, i recently saw a "limited time deal" or something like that in the Discover App for a restaurant. Might have been Cheesecake Factory or Olive Garden or Maggianos.... One of the restaurants that i usually buy around the holidays and get a bonus when buying direct from the restaurant, so I didn't pay much attention to it, but that was good to know that Discover ran deals for the gift cards that you get from redeeming your cashback bonus.
Thanks for the info bro, I never redeemed cash back via Gift cards but surely gonna do next time.

Great monitor. Used to own a couple.
Surprised it's still being sold by a retail store considering it's age though.

It's a fair price for these. Heads up that it's a really old model. I have 2 of these since 2012 and they are holding up fine, and still look good. Will do you just fine for office work, I particularly like the matte finish that does a decent, if not amazing, job of mitigating glare and reflections. Even works as a casual gaming monitor -- although with 8ms GTG response time and only 60Hz refresh, strictly a gaming monitor it is not.
I gamed on a pair of these for ages. Not every game needs 244hz and super fast response times, it just depends on what you're playing.

Key difference is these are 16:10 and both of yours are 16:9. May not matter to you, but it's a huge difference for some. I have had 3 of these on my desk for going on 9 years now and they are unbelievable workhorses. I paid 4x this price and it was well worth it.
I have 2 of these side by side. Bought around 2013. One of them in the last few months is starting to randomly go black (like it powers off) for a second or two, then comes back.

I have looked at the current new Ultrasharp monitors. I am absolutely used to 16:10. Once I realized the newest ones don't have that, I quit looking at them. Getting one of these to keep on hand for if/when it fails.

Thanks OP. TU & Repped.

Great deal! I just picked up one in the last Staples deal. I'm running it in portrait mode beside my Asus ProArt right now. Love both of them!
For those whining about HDMI, for who knows why, here you go. Here is a link to the same screen built with HDMI.
https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-PA248Q-Professional-1920x1200-Monitor/dp/B0084FNAB4?psc=1&SubscriptionId=AKIAILSHYYTFIVPWUY6Q&tag=duckduckgo-d-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B0084FNAB4
Cough up the bread and enjoy! Anyone else on the fence better jump on this DELL deal.
Sorry, mobile doesn't do links. Just search Amazonia for a Asus ProArt 248Q. $278 bucks

Thanks OP! These are solid business monitors. I used a U2405FPW for 13 years at work before I traded up to the U2415. The 2405 was still going but started to get a gray ghosting effect.

This deal is so cheap I just had to have another but this one will be used at home, portrait, next to my Samsung S32D850T. PPI on a 24" @ 1920x1200 is pretty close to 1440p on a 32", so should be a decent pair.

Why is that? I keep waiting for a U2415 deal but this one keeps tempting me at this price.
Actually I guess it all boils down to they took away auto-detect so I have to switch between sources. In the end I'm happy with both. I do like the audio out on the u2415.

For anyone missing audio out on this monitor, I was able to buy a new Dell AX510 sound bar to add on for around ten dollars. It clicks into the bottom and is powered by the monitor.

Multiple purchases. I did 4 today. All paid with same card and shipped to same address. Did different emails just in case.

Great price for a really good monitor.

I also have the U2415 which I place side-by-side horizontally and the U2412 vertically. The colors don't match exactly from the factory. I don't think the U2412 is factory calibrated with the same colors as the 2415. The 2415 comes with a printout of how close it is to some standard whereas the 2412 does not. The color discrepancy is even more obvious when I have the power-saving settings turned on the 2412.

This bugged me for a couple weeks, but in the end, I'm not a graphics designer so its sort of a moot point. Just bringing it out there for those that have higher color rendition requirements than mine.

Also, If you purchase two U2412 monitors made around the same time, I don't know how close the colors would be.

Still a good monitor at this price, especially with the 16:10 ratio.

Yes. Staple lets you use up to 5 GC's.
