Still 100 dollars too expensive in light of crap software support from LG. Unless you play games a lot, pixel 3a with some discount is a much better deal. Or grab g7 one open box items below 200.

Yeah seriously, I wish they would just fix the trainwreck of code that runs my LG V30, quite poorly at times I might add. I just don't have time anymore to format the device and start over like I usually do. However I was able to finally get the special V30 B&O (?) amplifier to output clean sound. I think this newer device foregoes the special clean-sound-enabled amp though?

Good to see Costco selling unlocked devices for the 1st time. But they still have to get a team to research the price competitively. No one in their sane mind will pay 400 for this device at this point.

decent deal if you want a V40 brand new. several months ago I was looking for one. brand new ones were going for nearly $500 then. now I'd rather have a G8 for $400.

I think you're better off with the One Plus 7 Pro. After tax this comes out to around $430? I didn't get charged tax for One Plus and it's around 500 (I got it for 475 with student discount).

I meant "lg g7 one" as they are heavily discounted now.

If I buy this phone, the chances are I'll be stuck with Android 9 based on LG's track record. In 10 months, Android 11 will come out. This phone will be two generations behind. That's the major reason I don't want to pay $400 for a new phone.

We're at a stage that the phones have decent hardware, but the software can't or won't keep up. Manufacturers need to do something about the software updating.

This is a great phone for a great price. Best buy had this same deal and sold out in a few days. I run nova launcher so no issues with the lg skin. The QUAD DAC is amazing if you care about a high quality headphone experience. I run this with both 150 and 300 ohm sennheiser cans and sound it drives those with no issues.

More likely, it will stuck on Android 9 forever based on heuristic records of LG Software updates
