Having both an Air3 and regular iPad same year just made no sense afaik. The Air3 should have been the 2019 iPad.

Even then the 2019 iPad should not have had a button like the Pro's again IMHO.
Agreed. And they should have all gone with USB-C as well.

I settled with a 2019 Air and pretty happy so far. The button, lightening, bezel size, and refresh rate were all downsides, but overall I'm happy with the A12 and sub $350 price (open box).

Still, this is a decent price and very nice tablet.

Good deal. If you have access to Sam's Club - this is their everyday price on the 64GB. With a much longer return policy.

About 18 months is a little long in the tooth... I would put an asterisk next to new. Yes it's the newest of this model but there should be a footnote at the bottom given talks on a newer version coming soon.
Agreed, hard to pay this price with the next gen around the corner. They skipped 2019 all together.

Most people who I talked to who have a ipad pro and a surface, usually end up sticking with the surface.
In my company people who have used surface dont like it anymore due to the lack of warranty support. They love the new IPad Pro. Its a great tool for people who write notes

So when this deal popped up yesterday, went and checked Amazon on the 256gb capacity and it's the same price as BB. It's a hit or miss trying to snag one. Appears third party resellers (I'm assuming) are snipe-ing them up. Just been checking on and off on Amazon mobile app and one popped up. Sure enough, I check and only the third party options are available.

Surface comes with a full warranty and you can get support at Microsoft stores..... People in companies unless your IT department supporting them, don't care about warranty support, unless they are purchasing the items themselves for their own BYOD use. Not sure how your people can justify paying $700 just for something to write on sheesh. Also not sure how that can be true when between surface and ipad pro there is a 1ms latency difference and thats only with the latest ipad pro. Also Surface has 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity which ipad pro does not, which makes it way better for not just writing, but sketching, drawing, and engineering.

The surface is an over all productivity tool and can do a lot of everything at least the higher spec models. I guess its also a unfair comparison since the surface pro 7 is more a direct competitor to the macbook pro and not the ipad pro. Surface go would probably be the competition to the ipad pro and ipad.

New models coming in March.
You don't know that, but it is a reasonable guesstimate - analysts seem to be split between March or Fall.

If you don't need it NOW wait till next release. You can always buy it in March for this price. It is not like Ipads get more expensive when get older :-)

The issue is the battery dies after two years. The biggest complaint we have heard is that it just does not hold charge. Yes for a year its good and after that it useless. Try using it for a whole day meeting. Midway the battery dies if you have not out let. Try using the IPad Pro, it last for a whole day and more

Thanks - I'm on the fence. Since due to work I'm in the Windows and iOS ecosystems. I couldn't believe the Surface Pro didn't have cellular. The Surface X does, but it's not the full version of Windows and sounds like a good concept, but in it's infancy.
I went Surface Pro over iPad Pro when I last shopped for something like this, I don't think they even compare but I needed to be able to run Windows not just iPhone Apps

Windows touch is still a joke, I've used the keyboard cover nearly the entire time I've owned like a laptop. The pen support is nice but really never used it and the iPad Pro is a much nicer pen experience

IMO if you need to run software get a Surface Pro. If you just need something to run "normal" applications that are likely already on the App Store then get a Pro

I've had my Pro 4 since launch and it still works great, not the fastest thing in the world but it keeps up. Only big complaint is trying to use it on my lap but no iPad would be better at that

Can't imagine why people would actually use the iPad for professional camera purposes ... seems so odd . Maybe there is a real need for it , but I can't see why would you take the iPad as a camera and not an iPhone with same camera specs.
If the 3-d mapping rumor is actually true it would be very useful for a lot of professionals like architects, interior designers, Realestate agents etc. depending on how it well it works and what programs are compatible with it, it would be a huge selling point for me personally.

Dang. So is the iPad Pro pretty much your daily driver? Any advice on a screen protector? Heard mixed reviews on the PaperLike 2, where it wears the top of the Apple Pencil. So might consider the iCarez screen protector. So you use a folio case with it?
I use Motcha Anti Glare Matte protector. It's amazing.

same price on Amazon, there are a couple open box units available for $621.

I'm still using my 2016 iPad Pro and I think I will wait until the next generation ships to see what happens to the prices on these.

Those who already own the iPad Pro. Thoughts on the Apple Pencil 2 vs. Logitech Crayon (looks more like a carpenter pencil rather than a crayon). My understanding the Logitech option does not have pressure sensitivity? What are the benefits with/without pressure sensitivity?
