I got the Vizio M8 65' back in Dec. for $610. I'm considering returning it for the TCL r625. It seems like a slightly better TV.
I've been pretty pleased with the M8, but there are a few quirky things about it I don't like.
Thoughts? Should I return for the TCL? I assume the TCL would be an upgrade...but how much of an upgrade I wonder?

True for all TV's as all TV's have there pros and cons ... There is no perfect .

Take oled burn in for instance , take TCL s405 horrible darkness not bright at all , I mean we see problems with all TV's when we're looking for it. Most will eventually just ignore what they looked for and forget about it .

but I agree there is some panal lottery going on here
TCL's low prices is a direct reflection of their willingness to use lower grade panels. While the more expensive brands use A panels and sell the Bs and Cs to other vendors. Either their prices go up and panel lottery stops, or they stay low and you return over and over until you find one that's acceptable.

Can't argue with that.

H9f is led and the king of budget TV's , however at this price point for either TCL 4k 65 or this TCL qled . The price is just too good atm .

And trust me I'd be the one to choose h9f all day .
How much difference is H9F from this 625 model? I feel that the H9F does not go on sale much, frequently out of stock, does H9F have similar issue with panel lottery? That might be worth it for me to know I am getting better panel/product upfront.

I would assume this QLED VS H9F LED, THE QLED WINS... Yes there is some panel lottery with Hisense but I don't think it's as bad as TCL panel lottery.

Might have to wait for another slickdealer to answer what your asking me for better information.

not exactly, TCL is vertically integrated, they manufacture all their panels internally. THAT is why they are the leader in lower costs.

ITT: People who couldn't get the 65R615 for $400 and so buy this one and justify the ~40% price increase by saying it's QLED and better. Is it? Probably, even though the scores for the 2 models are neck and neck. Is it worth 40% more? Absolutely not.

I bough this TV on Dec. 14 for my birthday from BestBuy and couldn't be happier. I had one day to return or price-match and I just did through chat and got them to price-match to the $594.99 plus tax.
Thanks so much to the OP!

I just gave my unopened hisense 55" roku to a family member. Now I need an upgrade for my 43" tcl 4 series . Should I wait or jump on this deal? Im not in a rush to buy a tv but can there be better deals later on?
Depending on your budget. If your budget is 600 chances are slim. If your budget is slightly higher you can wait.
