Have your Granny Google "sales tax" for you.
Your clearly a winner also... Unless he paid 90 dollars in sales tax his entire rant about the coupon is pointless... He said he had an extra 10% off from Amazon.. So yes the initial 467 plus tax would be 490. But he Specifically bought it from Amazon for the coupon which should have brought it down to 401 BEFORE TAX

So it will knock it out of the park? And there is no fee to return?

A couple of people have mentioned ways to correct the motion blur issue on the qled version of the 6 series but I wonder if that is from personal experience with this specific tv or just a general suggestion. If the motion issue can be overcome that makes this an even better deal.

Just got back from Best Buy to compare quality to other TVs. It's ok, but I really can't justify settling for it when you can just put another couple hundred towards the H9F, or even the Q60. I can foresee myself with the TCL in my living room, upset that for just $300 more, I could've had a far superior looking TV, and saved funds elsewhere to make up the difference.

Seeing it in person can also be misleading. If your BestBuy store is anything like mine, only the premium TVs are connected using the best source while the lower end TVs are connected via composite cables. It really isn't a fair comparison.

Really great gaming set... HDR has bright modes that really help compared last year's LG7700 I replaced it with, nice upgrade over all (Thou LG menu and remote were better)...

Destiny and CoD MW really fantastic with lowest input speed out there and clearly can see everything in HDR modes. It's easy a 5/5 gaming set. Movies are 4/5 to me, not prefect, but up there, but not the reason I wanted this set.

I did get out less on eBay BigDig when they had it for 469$ then took off 15% with an eBay coupon I had. Still worth it at this price.

Do you guys recommend paying the extra money to add the 4-year protection plan? (Asurion) is it worth it the extra 60$?

Exactly! Depending on which you go to and the TV they want you to buy. They do that stupid look at these 3 TV comparisons and schlep the one they want to sell with you the best settings to make it "Better".

I had just bought the 2018 for 400. Is it worth returning that and getting this one?

If your source is standard cable or antenna then you're not going to benefit much from 4K. But if you are big into Netflix, Amazon or Blueray there will be a world of difference. Ultimately any difference will be based on if your source broadcasts in 4K.
That's simply not true. Upscaling capabilities plays a huge role in picture quality, which is why I returned the Vizio P series last year. Everything but 4k simply looked worse than the Hisense sitting next to it. I ended up with an e8, and it upscales amazingly well.

any decently priced soundbars to couple with this?
Here's what I just bought to go with my new TCL 65R615: It's a JBL 3.1 with 10" Sub for $299.00 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/jbl-3-1-channel-soundbar-system-with-10-wireless-subwoofer-and-digital-... [bestbuy.com]

It's a 450 watt system with a 300 watt 10" whopper of a sub, and a full 6 drivers and 3 tweeters in the bar. Several reviews gave it best in class for a soundbar in the $500 price range. For $300 I don't think you'll come anywhere near it right now. It has been as cheap as $219 for a factory refurbished one off the JBL website, but they sold out rapidly and I don't think all the orders were even fulfilled. It's been a bit cheaper on a few deals but I can't seem to find a better deal so I went ahead and bought it. Plus I got the TV so darn cheap that I figured why not splurge a bit on the sound.

If you're looking to really cheap-out on the sound and keep it $150 or less. I suppose the good old Vizio sets are always rated pretty well and can sometimes be had for a little over a hundred bucks.

I've had this TV for about a month and really like it. Colors are excellent! It's a little glossy which causes some glare depending on where I'm sitting.

There's a lot of valid privacy concerns with these TVs (TCL is a brand owned by the Chinese government). What I did was simply attach a 4k Apple TV to it and leave it in "dumb" mode without wifi.
I don't think these TVs have microphones, right? What's the privacy concern? Just that they monitor your viewing habits?

so one of the ways these companies subsidize hardware costs is by collecting and selling as much as they can. that alone is enough but if you give any IoT device access to your private network, they have access to anything on your private network. Not only what the company itself intends but plenty of IoT devices come out of the box with unpatched vulnerabilities and even more do not get continued security patches for those found.

i won't go into a huge diatribe here but being large into home automation, following network security best practices - especially for cheap, chinesey devices - is something everyone should at least be aware of. even if the "common consumer" can't be assed to do anything about it.
