I heard it was dead on pc, untrue?
True multiplayer in PVP might be dead but community created content and playables a la Snapmaps is far from it

Got it. Thanks. I used to play the 1992 version and had a great time. I guess I'll find out how rusty I am.
Dude. If you played the original, stop playing the campaign. Go to Snapmaps and look for the top maps and behold remakes of all the classics.

If you're experienced fps player but not a pro start with Ultra Violence difficulty for campaign and enjoy a wonderful experience.

For me it's a totally different experience..... and not in a good way.

For one I get motion sick. Google Doom 2016 motion sick and you'll see I'm not the only one. (you'll also see some solutions such as decrease motion blur and increase FOV).

And for me the whole look is meh compared to the old dooms. Outside it's washed out red inside it's often dark/dim (not scary dark, just annoyingly dim).

You can actually open areas in the map similar to the old doom in style and walking into one of those rooms with the sharp contrasty graphics was like a breath of fresh air.

And the maps just are not fun with a lot of jumping about/hopping to try to find secret (or not obvious) content. Can you hop up there? No but over here where it looks almost exactly the same you can hop over here.

And at least in the first few levels your weapons feel underpowered. Event the shot gone. Just does not have the "umph" of the old doom shotgun......

I'm giving it a break and will probably go back at some time. Lots of folks love it so there has to be something there I'm missing.....

Thanks. Sounds like I'm in for quite a new experience. I'll keep a barf bag next to me just in case.

I liked it, it was one of the few PC games I actually finished. I actually liked the story in Doom 3, and this wasn't bad either, but of course it's an action driven game like story. The multiplayer is a deathmatch ode to the original shooter multiplayers where you mindlessly shoot around and respawn, rinse and repeat, but the single player campaign is fun. I liked the graphics and depiction of hell as a setting. You don't get lost a lot like the original which was frustrating, a tip if to look for the green lights and that'll illuminate where to go.

It's not dead on PC, people still play MP. I got this for $6.50 during the steam winter sale, worth every penny.

I hate how Nintendo gouges for this on switch. Well worth $5. Not worth $29.99/59.99 on Nintendo eStore.
Did you figure if this deal is for switch as well?

Perhaps I'm being naive, but why do they need my phone number to give me the key?
