everything has a filter
I wish what comes out of people's mouth had filters.

Our Maytag is not draining. We cleaned out the filter and surrounding areas as best we could. I cleaned out the hose where it connects to the sink earlier today, but haven't given it another go yet. Next I probably need to pull it out from under the counter and look at the hose on that end. Open to any advice though
I once found a broken off steak knife tip in the impeller (drain motor) that kept it from turning. Seems like a rare case though.

yes, it does: mucous salts. it holds dangerous stuffs like bacteria, pollen, dust etc. before entering to your body.
Nothing that goes in can be more dangerous than what comes out.

I JUST fixed this yesterday....it sucked. I disconnected the hose from both ends and ended up running a hose through it. It was DISGUSTING...some sort of pink slime (sausage fat from soup) but candy wrapper, water bottle lid, and a glob of paper towel. I originally tried to blow through it...I'm sure it was unsanitary but it didn't pass anything. Water is going to get everywhere so hopefully you have a shopvac and towels ready. It was pretty easy to take apart and put back togehter...literally just a hose clamp under the sink and one under the dishwasher.

Of course, clean your filters as well.

After that I put two tablets in as recommended for heavy cleaning, one in the dispenser and one on the bottom rack...my dishwasher has NEVER looked this clean.
So it's draining again. I really didn't clean much out of the hose, so I'm wondering if the hose clamp was just not tight enough or if there might've been an air gap or something.
