Any way to get free shipping? Super eggsaver is charging $5.99 for shipping.

Is it just me or has Newegg gotten much worse on shipping. I see less and less free shipping and so little of Shoprunner which used to be a much more common option.

Edit- I guess they dropped Shoprunner altogether. Shows how little I shop here nowadays.

Man have I been shopping less and less at Newegg lately. A fraction of their FAR offers. No Shoprunner. No free shipping options on so many items. Now sales tax in NY (which I won't blame on Newegg but it does remove what once once a benefit)

I believe tariffs have killed most of the tech deals, with PSUs among the hardest hit. Free shipping has virtually disappeared. Newegg will reel you in with an attractive AR price, but then pad their sale with a shipping charge to offset their increased wholesale prices for items affected by the trade tariffs.

I don't expect "the good old days" to return where Corsair and EVGA routinely had PSUs in the 450-550W range for as low as $15 to $25 AR, but it's going to take a decent deal with free shipping to get me to buy, even if it means submitting a rebate.

I posted a Newegg deal on a Thermaltake 550W Bronze unit with a 5 year warranty less than a week ago for $33.89 AR shipped. That one sold out almost immediately (and inexplicably IMO was downvoted by 2 SD'ers). The rebate expired yesterday, and magically the "sold out" PSU is back in stock today at regular price - ugh.

They had an evga white 500w for $30 AR yesterday but shipping killed that too. OOC would I be good with a 450w running a 1600af and rx570? First build so I don't know much.

I'd personally hold out for a Bronze rating or higher, and no less than 500 watts. You can ener your components in a build list on pcpartpicker, and it will give you a wattage estimate.

Interesting vid from GamersNexus here on how far you can get with 450W:

it's funny that cpus and motherboard and ram are currently at amazing prices......but cases and power supply prices suck (or at least the lower end of the market)

And yeah, I miss those 450w bronze $15-20 easy deals.

should be fine, the RX 570 is ~150W TDP and the 450 puts out over 30A on the 12V rail
so it''s plenty
