Can you recommend a good one?
Both below are great, one is 100% glass body and the other one is about 80% glass body.

100% Glass [homedepot.com] - this is the one i have been using for over two years.

80% Glass [homedepot.com] - from HD this one is good too, i was using it for several years until by brother in law took it. Walmart [walmart.com] also sells them.

I payed like $13-15 for the above kettles, and the brands that are good based on my last search where the Hamilton and Mega Chef. On the Mega Chef the switch is usually on the top and on Hamilton it is usually by the base . . . your preference

They asked for a recommendation on a glass kettle and that is what I provided (I also didn't pay that much back in 2017). Smilie Your comment wasn't asked for and wasn't helpful either-do you have a glass kettle that is $15 that you would like to recommend?
I didn't realize you had to be asked to comment now. Please accept my apologies, I didn't know you'd get so offended. Great recommendation

Depending on the quality, maybe not. I've bought 4 cheapo ones in the last 6 or so years and they keep failing - the off brand ones.

Considering this is a Hamilton beach, it may do just fine. I typically have spent 20-30$ on each 1.7-ish liter kettle.

Most of the 1L kettles on amazon are more expensive anyways.
you can just buy a 1.8L for a bit more [walmart.com], and it will do exactly the same and look better, just pour 1L of water

That is not a 100% glass interior. On the bottom there is metal heating element and a silicone gasket underneath it. All glass electric kettles have the same fundamental design (i.e. 100% glass interior electric kettles do not exist).

For people that want to completely avoid boiling plastic you should opt for a 100% stainless interior such as this one:

These sound like very useful devices to heat up water.

I just use a Mr Coffee or Hamilton Beach coffee maker and put water in it, and then drop a tea bag or 2 where the coffee grinds usually go, and it makes a pot of tea. And it can double as a coffee maker too. My coffee maker devices have glass container .... so I'm covered on the glass part others think would be good idea.

I guess I could buy this just for tea, ... I guess.

My comment has to do with the product in the OP. Beware of all the other products in this thread, most of which are sold by third party vendors (not sold by amazon). The "discussion" leading to recommendations are typical social media marketing.

the one you posted also have the same heating element just uses a glue based gasket. that's how all of of them are designed. unless you are paying +100 you are going to get same design. just look though the bad reviews and you will see a photo of the inside with the heating plate and a lot of rust

I have the Secura electric kettle [amazon.com], the interior is one piece stainless steel, the heating element heats the body and never comes in contact with water. You can cherry pick all you want but it's one of the highest rated electric kettles on amazon. It also has the most reviews (6000+) of all electric kettles on Amazon.

The one you linked has 6 reviews... and they are not good reviews. You just admitted that I was correct in that the "100% glass body" is not a 100% glass interior and contains plastic.

I don't think I need to say any more.

Secura plays review games. Amazon has removed "up to 5114" of them per Fakespot. Which equals almost the same number of current reviews.
https://www.fakespot.com/product/...x-one-size

So, I would certainly take great heed of the 800+ current negative ones.

This is the highest-rated kettle pretty much anywhere: Cuisinart.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003KYSLNQ/

By the OP's is the best budget pick per Wirecutter.

I need a kettle where I can select an individual temperature and I would prefer to be somewhat glass so I can see how much water is in it. I see a lot of recommendations but I don't know which one will allow for me to fine-tune the temperature.
