It's amazing to see people draws a conclusion that Chinese made stuffs are lower quality based on one data point. Great job done there.
Have you heard of companies advertise their moving to Chinese manufacturing for improving quality? I have yet to see products with prominent big labels "Made In China".

You build costs of doing a job into that job such as a photographer... Redundancy is part of the expense...
It was a hypothetical, I don't even own a camera outside of my phone. Insert any widget you'd like into the scenario.

Never known factory workers to jump from windows in any of the countries you listed.
If that's your criteria than Japanese and South Koreans are slave laborers too. Their suicide rate (a lot of it work related) is much much higher than that of China's. There's nothing extraordinary about China's suicide rate.

You get quality that you're able to measure and control. Iphones seem pretty good quality because Apple cares about building a high quality product.

If the OEM doesn't care or can't control and measure quality, the Chinese factory isn't going to do it on their own.

I have 8 year old Eneloops and Duracel, The Eneloops and the Japan Duracel are still in use (all hold good charge), the Chinese made Duracel have all failed...

the only rechargeable that have failed for me have been the china made rechargeable.

Last week I picked up a Wii remote that was dead, one battery was from china and dead, the other was Japan and read at 1.4v. the wii remote was not used, it just sat for months and that was the last china battery in my collection.

spend the money on japan batteries, it is worth it if you use them more than 3-5 years.
Are these amazonbasic Lime-Green batteries made in Japan?

seems to me a political decision rather than quality issue. Cause in Hong Kong, ordinary people still buy shit loads of Chinese goods.

If you really know about quality, it has to be built into the skill and the craftmanship of the workers which Japan is known for. You can only train and measure so much. This is for labor intensive manufacturing. For automated robotic lines, the labor skill is not that crucial for repeatability and they are usually not moved to China. Of course we are generalizing here. There could be exceptions. I would also disagree with your comment about Apple caring about quality. Do you know how frustrating it is to manage iOS upgrades? So many bugs in iOS 13. Same case with iOS 11. Most IT professionals would wait for at least .1 or .2 before upgrading iOS. Same case with their hardware, from cell antenna issue to bending phone.

I digress. Back to the battery discussion. Besides IKEA batteries, a good alternative to Eneloop brand batteries are Fujitsu batteries. They are more consistent and durable than Amazon Basics.

I went for it. Picked up the 16-pack of AA, too. They are still a much better deal (financially and environmentally) than most of the non-rechargeable batteries you get stuck buying in a pinch at the store when you need them.

Can i use these ont the eneloop charger?
Yes you can. I have used my eneloop charger to charge Ikea and Energizer branded batteries with no issue. I believe it should be fine so long as the charger is made for NiMH and your battery is NiMH.
