Best Buy is offering $400 off the Pixel 4 and 4 XL for cost of $399 and $499 respectively for the 64 gb models when financed through Verizon. This discount is NOT bill credits and is referred to as a "down payment" on the finance agreement so you will only owe $399/$499 if you cancel service.

So does this have Best Buy pay that part up front or is it just a partial monthly bill credit
It's off up front. Just purchased this an hour ago, 400 off instantly and financed/pay off amount of 499.99 per the agreement and when I logged into my account online it shows 400 already paid off.

I am 37 and must say Verizon's customer service is, by far, the worst I have ever dealt with in my life. First, if you need to contact them, you are looking at a good half hour wait before you get someone on the phone. They are always experiencing "higher than usual" call volume as specified when you are on hold. At what point does the high than usual become the norm. There is also no option for them to call you back in lieu of waiting.

I must have had close to 30 phone calls with them during my time with them over the course of a year and a half. I became so tired of their customer service, that I opted to just pay the rest of my S9 off instead of continuing to get my monthly bill credits. It got that bad that I was willing to pay them to not have to deal with them.

My major gripe with them is the amount of lies their customer service reps tell consumers. I had been told disparate information on six different occasions regarding when I can pay a phone off, what bill credits will be issued, what buyback amounts I'd be receiving on traded phones, and their policies. I had been hung up on on three occasions. Hung up as in abruptly and not without saying goodbye.

I had good reason to record my calls because I was able to prove to them that I had previously been told different information by other associates. I was able to document their either (1) lies or (2) misinformation that had been provided to me by representatives of their company.

Two of hangups occurred as a result of my telling them I was recording the call, which is legal in my state. In fact, I live in a one-party consent state, which doesn't even require their consent. They said that they cannot continue the call if I am recording them. I reciprocated their statement by indicating that they are recording me, so I have the right to because (1) I live in a one-party consent state and (2) they are recording me.
I can't count the number of hours I dealt with trying to make them stick to their word. I would guess it is over 20.

tl;dr They have the worst customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. They are probably fine with prepaid, but PLEASE, don't enter a device payment plan with them! From my perspective, you very well may be better off not taking their billing credits. I know it is tempting, but just consider my experience when deciding to do so. Chose as you wish.
What Todx sez. Point on. Verizon must have chopped quite a few customer service employees. Long time ago, the stores had their own tech employees. Last time I was in one their was two employees in a store. It all goes back to the CEO's vision of what the $$$ should be. When you call they want to sell, sell, sell. They don't make their quota fixing problems for the customer.

Been using a pixel 4 for a little under 2 months.

And I'm utterly disappointed. It's got nice little things going for it like call screening and some camera features but for me the biggest thing is speed and smoothness...well that's where it's the weakest. Why on Earth they needed to go with 6gb ram at the end of 2019 is beyond any sane individual. My phone lags, freezes up when doing even simple tasks as scrolling through photos etc.

Wish they would stop acting like or becoming Apple bc they're not

Not sure if I should get it on the Pixel 4. I need a new Verizon phone this year and don't want to spend more than about $400. If there's a deal on the Galaxy S11 this summer or fall I might want that, but my phone's battery might be bad by then and if it doesn't happen I'll be screwed.

I think you can pay the whole thing by third day. Refer the previous Pixel 2XL deal. I paid $450+tax on full deal like an year ago.
Can anybody confirm this? Was the deal you are talking about through verizons financing? I got in on one of these deals and how it actually worked is annoying.

You pay the full monthly price for the phone and get a bill credit for the difference. Paying off the phone early is based on full retail price how they set it up.

My phone is $20 a month with a bill credit of $15, effectively making it a $240 phone in the end. I have made more than half the payments on it and to pay it off right now would cost $220 based on the retail of $480.

No more endless photo storage, average at best battery life for an "xl" or plus" model" and no expandable SD slot. . . .hmmm. . .not worth it unless you are ok with it and already have a VZW account already to order/cancel with or need a phone NOW. Going to look back at the 3 series from Google as I like their storage and camera. . .
