PSA - AT&T TV NOW Adds 500 Hours of DVR Storage & 3 Streams to Select Packages

Good news – your DVR storage just went up to 500 hours and AT&T added a free 3rd stream. The downside is AT&T TV NOW customers on the grandfathered plans do not get this free extrea stream, and the 500 hours of DVR storage is not included.

May not be your idea of hot so mods can move it if needed. I'm always looking for a thread on ATTnow. I can't even stand typing the & and that's my main complaint. I was one of the original posters on Directv Now in the beginning and wondering how many are still on that. I'm still standing behind that deal. Even with price increases I'm getting everything I need. I even downloaded the new MS Edge Chromium browser and it streams it just fine. I'd like to have a 3rd stream but I can live with the grandfathered plan, $25 off guarantee for life.

Even my grand fathered plan is now $80 plus taxes. (just right with a 3rd stream). It used to be $60. I only keep it for my mother in law who needs the spanish channels that other internet tvs dont provide. If you dont need those i recommend looking elsewhere

They jacked up my "Live a Little" to $60. Switched to YTTV for $10 less/month.

Got too expensive, cancelled last month. Would have likely cancelled anyways with all the channels that they've cut from the initial channel lineup. Thinking about Sling Blue&Orange instead.

there seems to be a wide range of "grandfathered" plans. Looks like this is about my second Dec 19, 2017 anniversary with them. Mine just went up to $60/mo for Go Big so I'm not complaining. It also has the free HBO glitch and they just added HBO2.

I can't defend their horrible reputation, just saying it's still good for some, depending on your needs. I got used to less DVR time shifting, I still have a satellite DVR in the shed with recordings I never watched. I love all the extra apps I can use with ATTNOW credentials.

Bummer, doesn't apply to the "Go Big" introductory package. Still a pretty good deal at $65 with two streams and HBO.

ATTnow is acting like they want to get rid of us "low margin" users but I'm going to stick it out. Maybe they'll shape up someday. *there are some rumors it this will trickle down to grandfathered but not holding my breath. It's early still, maybe rolling out in stages.

I used to be a grandfathered customer. I stuck with the price hikes until the price reached $65 ($60+ $5 for HBO). The software is so buggy that I was about to rip my hair out. This is across all of my devices so I can't blame it on a specific platform. I swear AT&T doesn't like this service and it is doing its best to drive away the customers so it can push them to more expensive services from them. I am on YouTube TV and OMG it is soooooo much better in so many ways. I don't even miss the extra channels I supposedly got with AT&T. Anyways if you are still on AT&T, don't punish yourself. Give other services a try.

YTTV.. Not looking back.. If you have not looked at it yet, you should.. 500gb dvr? not even close to yttv.. 3 streams, individual user profiles and DVR.. If you do your streaming on your mobile data plan, I could see, but I cant see its worth any other way.. No TD from me, but it is not what it started at in value..

Still on D* with an old plan (ultra especial). With discounts and 2 old dying DVRs I'm paying $79.

Looking at the Option Mas it would be $86. Maybe instead I'll go with YTTV and add Sling Best of Spanish plus South America for $15 ($18 with 3 streams) - That would be $65

Need to do a comparison of both. I forgot I have 3 months credit free with Sling for a recent echo deal...

The lack of surround sound is a deal breaker for me.

it's fair to compare it to other services. I think there are drawbacks to each one but the early birds got the worm on ATTnow. Can't recommend the current plans and rates but this bonus does make it more competitive. I have very few problems with my 4k Firestick and had good streams from the start. They need to keep Roku on board somehow but I could live with android tablet apps and chromecast.

Heads up: Starting Jan. 1, 2020, you won't be able to add the AT&T TV channel to your Roku device. Already have AT&T TV on your Roku device? You can keep using it as long as you don't delete the app. We're actively working on a new agreement with Roku and hope to resolve this soon.

I'm still waiting to see if anyone got the bonus DVR and stream yet. I was checking the feedback at CC link in OP and one user sure got my attention from chat with ATTNow

He understood and told me that Go Big grandfathered users should be receiving an email notice from them sometime soon (he couldn't not even give me approximate dates, just "soon") that would bring our bills down to the original price or around there without removing any features. I guess it's a way to make up for now giving us the 500 DVR hours or 3rd stream that this article talks about. If it's true and it comes soon (before I jump ship), I'll take it! I just wanted to make others aware.
