If it's blue screening, it's likely a software problem. You could look at the logs, find the cause and fix it or pay an IT person who can or just factory reset it (if you don't want to spend the time or the money).

I repair a lot of computers and most blue screens are software problems that can pretty easily be repaired if you know what your doing.

For wake on KB/mouse, not every computer will support that. But often times you can get it to work via a setting in the BIOS and/or sometimes you need to enable 'allow device to wake computer' in the device settings in device manager. I remember I once had to enable that setting for an external mouse before.

You miiight also be able to resolve the keyboard issue via playing around with drivers, wouldn't also hurt to see if there's an appropriate setting in the BIOS related to that (like the common BIOS setting for fn key defaults).

Not saying option 2 or 3 can be fixed, some computers just won't allow it. But there very well might be ways to get them working.

The CPU is i5-8265U is a 4core 8threat which equivalence to i7 7th gen.
The only down side it no backlit keyboard. ;(

I am primarily in the market for a laptop. Not really looking for a tablet. Would this be a good choice? I liked the specs pretty much at this price. Also, Is the keyboard on this detachable? Appreciate if someone can help! Thanks

I would say it's a good deal i bought an i7 Dell laptop a couple of months back for $379 at the same store (which was a great deal) but it didn't fold like that or have touchscreen which are two thing missing on my laptop

Does the 2 in 1s work pretty good from a laptop perspective? Would I feel any difference?

You should look at the pictures on the Staples site. This is a 2-in-1, so it's a laptop, but the keyboard flips around to give you a tablet experience. It's not detachable. I have a 2-in-1 (not this one), and I really like it. Just depends on what you want / need.

Absolutely. The hinges get more of a workout and sometimes aren't as solid as those of a regular laptop, but all in all, a great laptop experience.

if you want Windows, I don't see how you could beat this price on what should be a decent machine. especially for $350!! Nice find OP!

Hmmm, trying to decide between this and the 14" Motile from Walmart. The specs and price are similar. For the Acer, I don't care about the touchscreen but do like the better reputation of the brand. However, the Motile is lighter (2.55 lb v. 3.75) and has a backlit keyboard.

Touchscreen means it's glossy which means better colors and detail than the motile's anti-glare.

Yeah, I know, but most of the time I use my laptop hooked up to a monitor. When I do use the laptop by itself, I prefer anti-glare. Glare bothers me so much I'm happy to trade away some visual vibrancy.

My Acer swift has several issues: 1. blue screen every month, sometimes several times in a week. 2, cannot be wake by USB K/M, frustrating if use as desktop. 3.number pad is set to on after waking up.

Minor nitpick, but 7th gen i7 was still 2C/4T. (Look up i7-7600U.) 8th gen i5/i7 isn't really equivalent to anything before.
