Good movie even though I wasn't fond of Ryan Gosling's portrayal of Neil. But not really high on the replayability.

Why is that? A lot of people believe he did a great job, Armstrong, and astronauts in general are supposed to be very stoic. I feel indifferent, I think Ryan Gosling did a great job but the movie itself wasn't all that great for me, and I'm a sucker for space flicks.

According to who? It was praised by critics, nominated for three Oscars in technical categories (with one win), and the UHD has better color/detail than the blu-ray according to the blu-ray.com review.
Critics and oscars exist to sell/shill to peasants. It's a circle jerk.

I felt the plot was rushed and storyline was choppy...I usually remember good movies but I am sorry to say I dont really recall seeing it.

Did anyone who watched the actual film think the American flag was missing somehow?

The film is a character study of Neil Armstrong and his family, and the incredible danger and pressure of what they were trying to achieve. I didn't notice the American flag missing at all, but I'm sure it's not, and anyone focused on that is missing the point of the film and watching it looking to get angry at something that's not there.

Watch Apollo 11 from 2019 instead. It is a documentary but it's far superior to First Man. Apollo 11 received 99 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
First Man was so depressing. Neil was a funny man and everyone liked the man. In the Movie he comes across as a loner and not very sociable. The book wasn't like the movie when it comes to telling the story about Neil. As for the American Flag missing it was no big deal.

I would love to watch Apollo 11! I am waiting for a US UHD release. I believe it was only released in UK, but the copies I can find on eBay are very pricey.

I found First Man to be very uplifting. No matter what happens in your life you can achieve greatness. Getting off-topic though.

You don't need to get the UHD version for Apollo 11. The footage is from 1969. The upgrade is not worth it.
Have you seen it in both? I would be surprised as some of the footage used was from 70mm and 35mm film which should look phenomenal in 4k.
