According to who? It was praised by critics, nominated for three Oscars in technical categories (with one win), and the UHD has better color/detail than the blu-ray according to the blu-ray.com review.
Reviews from "Critics" mean nothing today.

Did anyone who watched the actual film think the American flag was missing somehow?
Buzz Aldrin is the one who planted the American Flag so it doesn't make much sense for this moment to be in a movie about Neil Armstrong.

As for the overall movie, I would give it 2.5 out of 5. It's well made but kind of depressing.

I personally think it is one of the best movies I have watched. It's okay if you don't agree.

There are a lot of movies in this world that I am glad to have watched but would not be particularly interested in ever watching again. This is one of those movies.

For reference, other recent movies I would put into this category include The Irishman and The Martian.

Just make sure this is something you want to own rather than grab from a Redbox or rent with a promo code for cheap.

There were American flags all over that movie. But it's really not a movie about American flags. It was a movie about Neil Armstrong and his introvert personality. I thought it was a great movie. Definitely would watch again.

I would love to watch Apollo 11! I am waiting for a US UHD release. I believe it was only released in UK, but the copies I can find on eBay are very pricey.

I found First Man to be very uplifting. No matter what happens in your life you can achieve greatness. Getting off-topic though.
I have Apollo 11 in UHD, from Vudu. I believe it's the US release, and am not sure what the difference would be.

That being said my kids and I love the movie. It's amazing to watch all of the power and skill that into making that thing go to the moon and back.

I would highly suggest having a good subwoofer / stereo and cranking it to 11. The lift-off scene is amazing.

Typical of Pedowood cinema anymore. That's why I'll no longer pay for it.
Came here to say this.^^^^^^

Additionally Apollo 11 was the best at the Theater, that 70mm film shot on the launch day look stunning. Looking forward to getting a UHD copy

I thought the movie was excellent when I caught it in theaters, but I highly doubt I could rewatch it again. Not much replayability imo. Great deal if you have never seen it, though

Get over yourself. As a full fledge Trump supporter myself, I will not watch something just because some politician says it isn't patriotic. The movie is pretty good and you'd probably do yourself a service in watching it.

It's depressing as hell. Definitely doesn't leave you with good feelings at the end.

This was without a doubt the most boring movie about space that I have ever seen. I don't know how they managed to take possibly humanity's most interesting event and make it so tedious but they succeeded.

100% worth a skip.
