Not saying this is a bad deal but these types of sales are just marketing tricks.

When a store runs a sale that offers Buy 1 item, get 1 item 50% off they are selling you both items at a 25% discount which is ok but nothing to write home about.

A 'Buy 2 and Get 1 Free' sale provides a 33% discount on each item which might seem pretty good.

A better deal is to find an item you REALLY WANT at a 33% percent discount that doesn't require buying any other products.

Again, its a psychological trick marketers use to get people caught up in the frenzy of 'saving money' without really considering if the items they are purchasing are things they really want/need. These sales work for retailers because it forces consumers to purchase more than a single item.
Only if you can get those items at 33% off. I've kept my eyes on the hellboy library editions for 2+ years and I've NEVER seen them for 33% off. This is must-cop.

Point taken. I shouldn't dumb down the SD community.

That being said, it's hard! You have no idea how much I learned spending 7 years in the 4th grade! Wink

Hellboy library v4+5 - amazon has them listed at the same price and I usually wait for a fiver off sale with them. Saved an easy $25 after taxes.

Awful marketing ploy. Pricing games like 2k20 ($35 on amazon), Borderlands ($30 on amazon), and Outerworlds ($35 on amazon) at $60 is a joke. Just a few examples of games you can find way cheaper elsewhere.

The fact they are charging for Destiny 2 which is free to play tells you all you need to know about this sale. Most of the full price games are already discounted elsewhere.

I suggest we all buy one of these "promos" to join a class action lawsuit.

Some good deals on Criterion blu-rays - the deal is off their already lowered prices and ended up with 3 films for $45.

Any lawyers out there reading this? This practice was outlawed in California roughly 10 years ago. When a retailer puts something on sale, they are not allowed to jack up the prices the previous night to claim that it is now "on sale". Example... Mario Rabbids retails at $19.99, Target jacked up its price to $59.99 to promote this Buy 2 get 3rd free. This is absolutely illegal.
Rabbids does not retail for $19.99

They've started limiting it for pre-orders of games unlike before but for this go around RE3:Remake is available for pre-order. 39.99 plus tax if you buy three and cancel 2. Anyone know if the "estimated tax" corrects itself eventually? Mine is still showing the full tax for 3 games instead of 1.

Its a good deal if you tend to play games at launch. Not so much for older games obviously.

There are deals to be had in this, but I agree, a lot of mark ups.

Like if you were buying 3 DBZ Kakarot games, comes out to 90ish and that just came out.
