This is a great deal! I bought my daughter the Infant Optics one she wanted (for triplets) and this one for my house. She ended up needing another monitor so I gave her mine and they liked it way more than the IO one and bought another so they now have 2 Eufy's and 1 IO, the Eufy is far more clearer and a bigger screen.

No; this is a baby monitor which means you're restricted to their display and their cams - theoretically the compromise makes setup a no-brainer but also restricts what you can do with the system.

We've been through 3 baby monitors and in retrospect, the advent of ipcams has been a godsend - you can get a very good ipcam for the money spent on a dedicated baby monitor but have so much more versatility and functionality with it.

The first 2 cams I had the displays died (Summer brand) and the third I just wanted better display and panning (Foscam). I bought an Amcrest cam off Amazon for about the same money as this post and it's far better than any "canned" package. For example you'll see a lot of reviews of this cam complain how Eufy keeps stringing them along promising add-on cameras (to purchase). With an IP cam, you can buy any cam you like - you're not stuck with an ecosystem; of course that might not apply to most people, but just an example.

Just a heads up that this often goes for $100 and has been as low as $70. This is a great product, but not much of a deal.

I think it's worth it at the original price, great quality. I was able to snag it during Amazon's flash sale for 70 but would easily pay this price now that I know how good of a product it is.

What kind of ipcam(s) do you use for baby monitoring purposes? Do you wish ipcams had any features that dedicated baby cams offer?

You can find ipcams that list temperature in the room (some baby cams do this) but IMHO it's worthless information. Any ipcam can become a baby cam, really, and you can limit its use to your own network or open it up outside; multiple people can view it simultaneously and it won't require a separate device (monitor) you have to keep charged or wonder where it is (most people have smartphones these days). Most ipcams allow for 2-way audio, motion detection (and alerts), better models allow for PTZ (pan tilt zoom) and usually better resolution than baby cams.

I honestly can't think of a single reason I'd buy a dedicated baby cam.

This is the one [amazon.com]I am currently using; I didn't pick it particularly for a baby cam but it was an SD. It's $80 on Amazon. We primarily use our android phones to view it with an app called Tinycam (I paid for it but it also has a free version). You can find iphone apps as well if that's your thing.
