I have this - after > 1.5 yrs of casual use the 'locking' mechanism (which doesn't actually lock) doesn't quite hold the tape like it should. You'll measure something and it'll sloooooooowly retract as you're doing so.

Not a huge deal, but know it before you click buy.

This really any better than the HF measuring tapes?

No hassle lifetime warranty with harbor freight and occasionally coupons for a free measuring tape.

Good deal, but their "original" retail seems a bit exaggerated

Bargain basement crap priced at about what it's worth.

No, it's no better than the Harbor Freight ones.

It is better. Tape is stiffer and more legible. The auto locking feature is easier with one handed use or trickier measuring situations.

Like most of us here, I like free, and have a bunch of HF freebie tape measures, but I don't reach for those when I'm working on a project, doing a lot of measuring at the miter saw, etc. The HF measures work fine when you just need to measure one thing and not work with it for hours at a time.

I keep a Komelon at the miter saw station of my basement workshop.
