... how much volume does a pound of almonds take up?
When I run out in a couple of days, I'll let you know.
I usually mix in with walnuts and peanuts, so the results might slightly be skewed.

Costco recently sent a recall mailing for their Kirkland Almond Butter, not for safety, but for not meeting their quality standards. I returned a jar for being concrete on the bottom and all oil on the top.
Know what helps with that separation?

(Psst: it's palm oil Smilie )

Is palm oil similar in health benefits with coconut oil?
To be fair, I have serious doubts about all the benefits of coconut oil.
Sexual lube, moisturizer, shave oil, burn ointment, etc.

Huh that is funny the other poster just said he gets the same thing and it is nothing but almonds ,no I have been getting Justin's and find that about 2/3 of the the way through the last 1/3 is so dry you can barely spread it,heating it helps ,it spreads better on hit toast
I assumed that one of the reasons they add the extra oil, palm oil was to make it easier to spread
Bit you are saying the one with no added oil is runny
And the one I get has added oil and it is very dry
Palm oil is extremely high in saturate fats content. It has a melting point of 95F - which is probably why it is added to help give that viscous texture. And why heating it up addresses the problem.

I thought this was normal lol I've had several jars that way from Costco... Crap
It's normal. If you leave it alone enough, the almond settles on the bottom, and the oil floats up. Give it a good mix.

There's little evidence that palm oil is unhealthy. The actual motivation for the crusade against palm kernel oil comes from environmentalists who believe that inanimate matter and non-humans take precedence over human welfare. All of this stuff about it being unhealthy, to whatever extent there is any truth to it, it's mostly posturing.
I guess you're not aware of the massive amount of Virgin rainforest that's being destroyed for the sole purpose of planting palm oil trees? Or maybe you are and just don't care. After all all the primates being killed are non-human??

You disgust me. And yes I would say that to your face.
