Gerber GDC Zip Blade

I have one on my keychain I use all the time, its very useful to open boxes, packages, bags, its very durable and unobtrusive

8.62 is the lowest I have seen it for
.28 cent coupon too so its even lower

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AU6A...PDKIKX0DER > Now $9.62

A box cutter. If you search Amazon there's a bunch of options for other brands. This price is comparable.

I haven't tried this unit, but I prefer something difficult to open when I'm keeping it in my pocket with my keys. Don't want it unintentionally opening and then slicing my finger when I reach in to grab my car keys. Or worse yet, poking it's blade into my junk.

Lots of bad reviews about quality and difficulty opening the knife. I'll pass Smilie

It looks like they are matching Walmart's $8.62 price with 28¢ pickup discount. I guess doing the coupon stops the undercutting cycle we used to see that would keep dropping the prices.

It's the lowest price by $0.16 before coupon. It's been within $1 about 8 times in the last year, each instance lasting 1-2 week (coupon history unknown).

I hang my keys off by beltloop. I hope the disconnecting clip can withstand all the motion going on in that area.

I'm sure this is better quality,

But they sell very similar keychain knives on eBay and ali that are like a buck. Fur my frugal brothers and sisters.

I have this on the coat I'm wearing right now. It's a nice idea, but TBH, I've never actually used it for anything. The blade is pretty stiff to open and quite short (about 1/2").

It will. I have had this on my key chain for years and have never had any problem with the clip...it is very secure.

I got this before for cutting open plastic packaging and stuff. The blade itself is nice and sharp, however getting a good solid grip on this is actually a little difficult. For opening Amazon packages and cutting tape, it's fine. But hard plastic packaging is a lot more difficult than a traditional box cutter. I have average sized hands.

I like the Gerber EDC Lite [amazon.com]. I have used them for years, just a little bigger than a box cutter blade when folded and it has never opened up on it's own in my pocket. I especially like that the blade is replaceable with standard box cutter blades. I don't worry about trashing it.

They frequently go on sale for $6-$8
