How is this spam? This is the best points offer for the IHG card so far. It was a front page deal when it came with 125k points,

https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/492205

if you know how to use the benefits of this card (free anniversary night, Caesars diamond match etc), this card has lot of value!
How were you able to get Caesars diamond from this?

I have the card and am racking up the points pretty quick but when trying to redeem the points for a stay in Hawaii/Oahu when I added my child as a 3rd person in the room they won't allow me redeem the points anymore. I called in and they where not able to book the room if a 3rd guest a child is present..

Very disappointed so far..
So book the room for two people

I usually book as 2 person in this case and just go there with kid, and noone asks anything. It was different location and YMMV, just a idea

The value of IHG points are estimated at 0.5 cents each for a bonus value of $700

I've been reading a lot on reddit about cards. I have good credit and was able to get the chase business ink card. My goal is to pay for my 10 year anniversary trip to Hawaii all on points. Right now I have a Capitol one card with 60k in points, the chase business ink with almost 120k in points. Any suggestions about my next one. Thinking this might be good but I don't travel a ton or vacation much (5 very young kids).
I would bet Sapphire reserve card next. Really nice if your family go out to eat a lot. Once you get the signup bonus point, move on to freedom card or freedom unlimited card. Once you acquire those cards' signup bonus points, your cards based on card benefit. For example, use Sapphire reserve for restaurants, travel/use freedom card for the categories(Costco, grocery and more)/use freedom unlimited for another purchases. You will see points piling up fast.

IHG has getting less attractive, Esp big change to their Free night. can't use Free night in most intercontinental Hotel, must use with the 1 yr time frame.
It has always been 1 year because it's an annual benefit

I travel internationally every 2 months thru EWR or JFK and have never sat "an hour plus" in customs over the past 10 years. Where are you hitting customs on your trips with such bad experiences so I can avoid at all costs? I'm not debating the value of getting GE over TSA pre check (I cant get GE due to silly mistake when I was 17yo) but my experience at NY airports isnt that bad.
I traveled a lot for work a couple of years ago. I don't know if I've ever spent an hour while traveling to Canada, but I've definitely spent some significant time in the lines. I did get stuck in a line for over an hour on a connecting flight from Mexico into Fort Worth though.

If you opened it in the last 90 days, you can call Chase to point match you and bump you to 140k.

Using the IHG Platinum Elite status, you can match yourself to get the Wyndham Diamond status. Using the Wyndham Diamond, you can status match to Caesars Diamond.

Hmmm, it would appear that those of us who have the old standard IHG Card would not get the bonus points if upgraded?

Guess I'll just stick with enjoying a $59 annual fee and pretty much the same benefits. The other stuff, PreCheck, discount on point purchases, etc doesn't really pull me over for another $30 / year.
But you won't get 140K points...

Yeah when I called IHG® they phoned the hotel and were advised to tell me they have a very strict policy due to fire code. Felt pretty salty after that conversation..

Before they made the change to limit anniversary night at 4k, you can book the anniversary night within the given 1 year time frame, but can use night in the future day. Now anniversary night must book and use with that 1 year time frame.
