How is this spam? This is the best points offer for the IHG card so far. It was a front page deal when it came with 125k points,

https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/fp/492205

if you know how to use the benefits of this card (free anniversary night, Caesars diamond match etc), this card has lot of value!
IHG has getting less attractive, Esp big change to their Free night. can't use Free night in most intercontinental Hotel, must use with the 1 yr time frame.
I have both, it makes using points a great deal. I buy points during double point bonus sales. When doing that, you get 4th night free plus you still get 10% back. If not paying by points (not staying 4 nights), I pay USD. Owning both is a great setup, $150/yr for 2 free nights, Global Entry and you can double dip (4th night free +10% back) on point redemptions.

Being a disabled veteran, I can park at PDX for free, I hold the Alaska Visa so I get a free checked bag and the perks from owning both IHG cards is a great setup.

Hmmm, it would appear that those of us who have the old standard IHG Card would not get the bonus points if upgraded?

Guess I'll just stick with enjoying a $59 annual fee and pretty much the same benefits. The other stuff, PreCheck, discount on point purchases, etc doesn't really pull me over for another $30 / year.

You can have both cards.

which gets you 2 free nights a year (plus the features and benefits of both cards) for $148 total a year. (plus the 140k signup bonus of course)

Just make sure you apply for the new one, don't upgrade.

Also, be sure to do Global Entry instead of TSA Pre check. The card covers the cost of either, Global Entry includes TSA Pre check so there's no reason not to get the more expensive one.

Did they raise the annual fee for the old card? I thought it was $49 per year.

global entry seems like a pain in the butt

GE requires a bit more work to get (especially if there's not an office local to you), but it's vastly better if you ever travel outside the US... I've saved I dunno how many hours walking right past the stupid-long customs/immigration lines every time I come back into the states....5 minutes at a kiosk and off you go.

I have the card and am racking up the points pretty quick but when trying to redeem the points for a stay in Hawaii/Oahu when I added my child as a 3rd person in the room they won't allow me redeem the points anymore. I called in and they where not able to book the room if a 3rd guest a child is present..

Very disappointed so far..

Great card, have it for several years... anniversary reward night is worth the annual fee.
