I agree that 4K is still gimmicy for a PC but the U2717D is actually made with a Samsung LTM270DL11 PLS (IPS-type) panel.
The curved monitor is what made me LMAO

Gotcha.. They have their place imo as long as the "curve" isn't too deep.. I love the look of 2 27" curved monitors side x side on a desk... It just looks neat but not very practical.. . a single 34" is really nice for FPS gaming.

lol righttttt, most likely coming from someone that doesn't want to spend the premium and get a quality brand in monitors. I've had the Dell and 1440p in general sucks anyways on a 32" monitor. Need 4k
This isn't a 32..it's 27"

Scaling compatibility is spotty with professional software. So while 4k is nice, 32" @4k is still small ( I have a 4k monitor for home use and gaming). People who buy these monitors don't always have screen resolution as a top priority. How's the color gamut on that samsung?

Also want to stay away from curved monitors if you're using it for drawing/design purposes IMO.

anyways, people can view the rtings review on

I was worried about curved monitors for cad applications before I bought a 34" ultra wide. After living with it for a while it is not an issue. Ideal setup for me (cad and programming) is a 1440p 34 uw with a 27" 1440p right beside it. Some apps are still terrible on an UW.

2x27" 1440p would be excellent as well.

True, i am sure 27" is nice for this and resolution... Have to take reviews with a grain of salt, IMO, at least on 32". The monitor below sucked for picture quality, glad I returned it.. Good for gaming, but general usage and viewing a desktop / even youtube videos, not even close to 4K. Dont care that it is 60hz

Compared to the U2515H, is it a big upgrade besides size?

amazon has a similar "refreshed" model for around $180 for those who don't mind store returns. there is a 20% off promo going on now.. https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B075KGLYRL/ref=dp_olp_0?ie=UTF8&condition=all&qid=1579878990... [amazon.com] just click the "Available from these sellers" link and select the one that says "20% off. Discount taken at checkout". Can be returned if it comes damaged... good luck!

Dell Ultrasharps are literally THE brand monitor to which all other professional monitors are to be compared with.

Pixel Density/Pitch - any time you increase a monitor size without increasing resolution, you increase the pixel pitch, density or both. That does not indicate a poor quality monitor. That is just blatantly obvious tradeoff on screen size and resolution that you chose. Dell also has 4k options that you didn't.

Do some research on displays, and the differences and tradeoffs of each screen type/technologies before posting something ignorant.

I expect your reply will be a silly aggressive rebuttal and not a thoughtful or educated reply.

you are going to hate that setup so much.

the mouse moving between the monitors won't match the physical location.

Apparently you are one of about 4 people in this country who don't play the occasional game. I don't know how you can willingly miss out on one of the most impressive technological achievements of human beings that modern 3D games have become but I guess that is your prerogative.
nobody that occasionally plays a game needs freesync or gsync

No, I have 2515H at home. And two 2717d at office.
2717d is about the same for anything else other than the size.
The 27" vs 25" does make a difference in viewing and editing work. I can say this because I have a 27" 2k and 32" 4k along with the 2515H

I use this monitor for my home office hooked up to my laptop and used primarily for office work / development and I love it for that purpose. The screen size is perfect for the resolution as I dont need to mess with scaling and the colors and brightness are perfect to me.

I bought this from costco during 2018 BF for about $300 + tax and I dont regret at all.
I did have to exchange the original one due to clusters of stuck pixels, but costco shipped a new one and didn't have to deal with dell support, which IMO was a pain to deal with (dell support).

So tempted to get one more for my desktop but I think I'll hold off for a 4K or a 2K gaming monitor.
