One big bonus that is not mentioned about having this card vs a chase sapphire: when looking to book award travel, they open up all available seats on flights to booking awards. So I find when I do go to book award travel, I have 10x the number of flights to choose from vs without the card. I have been keeping the card, with the $95 annual fee, for this reason alone.
Is this still true this year? Last year with United's mileage plus rule changes, they greatly de-valued the perks you could get with Chase cards.

I had applied for the 65k for 10k spend offer and tried to change to this new 60k for 3k spend and they wouldn't change it when I called. I think it was because I called 40 days later.

I think if you applied within 30 days it's worth a shot to call.
I signed up for the 65k deal that required $10k in spending in 6 months. Later that day they changed to the current deal and I called them and they wouldn't switch it.

I'm guessing oversea flights wouldn't go as far value wise

Little bonus for those possibly on the fence. The priority boarding (which is Group 2) is tied directly to your Mileage Plus number, which means priority boarding even if you don't use this card to book the flight. I'm required to travel on a corporate credit card and it's a nice little perk to still get priority. I'm sure it only applies to a small set of people, though.

I have used United miles to fly on business class in Lufthansa from Atlanta to Delhi several times. Easy redemption.

Is there a way to redeem the miles as a statement credit or only as miles to use on united?

I know this sounds tempting but did you ever hear how the farmer kept his mule moving forward. He dangled a carrot in front of his nose. Same method here.

United has got to be one of the worst airlines on the planet. Awful customer service, with outdated planes that look like they were built in the 50's and overly cramped seating.

So you only get 2 lounge passes for the year ? Seems cheap of them.
Definitely is cheap of them. I have this card, about to cancel it. The cost of these lounge passes to United has to be minimal.

My wife and I were flying with our two kids and decided to use the lounge passes. My youngest son was 2, and the guy at the counter was telling me that we should be having to pay $50 for access for him. He was not eating or drinking anything, just sitting with us. He let us go, but told us not next time. No thanks on that.
