Can these points redeemed for cash or they can only be used to purchase airline tickets?

Only for tickets. Why would a "United Airlines" card be able to redeem for cash? Try a cash card

Forget it. Don't get this card. Their new policy can jerk you around plus and minus 6 hours and not give you a refund.
25 hours! Nice try.

Was UA3478 your flight no?
It might have been. It was a while back. Could have also been that quarters inflight code. They made it seem like an inflight exclusive but I think anyone can use it

Any one know when the 2500 miles to post or how long it takes for the card to link to my United account? I was approved on the 4th and the card shows up on my chase account I don't see anything suggesting my MileagePlus account has been linked to my card yet...
About a month after my first purchase the first 2500 showed on my account

At this time, miles are more valuable. Just booked a trip to China using 35k miles one way and the ticket price are $1300 because of the scarce flight schedule. But usually biz class get your points worth more.

I signed up for this card three years ago, and, like an ass, managed to not hit the minimum spend for the bonus. That said, I stuck with the card because of the bag check benefit which I flew frequently enough to utilize. Now that I won't be flying for the forseeabls future, should I follow up with them and see if they are willing to offer me this benefit rather than closing the card? Anyone with experience here?

Nope. Not worth bothering for the 0.0% chance they would do that. You want the bonus, cancel and reapply in ~ 30 days.

I keep getting denied, not sure if they flagged me for churning. I normally have around a 830 credit score.

The days of tens of millions flying around aimlessly in airborne petri dishes is over folks. By this time next year it will be lucky if there are 2 viable US carriers, both of which will have to be pre 78 regulated. You can see the acropolis on google earth, you can video conference with a colleagues in Japan a dozen ways. The need for leisure and business travel is essentially zero.
I respect your opinion but there is still a large contingent of people who want to see things in person for leisure. Can I see the wonders of the world online? Of course. But there are those that was to see them up close in person. It's not for us to judge the risks and benefits of travel for those purposes
