We demolished an office building a couple months ago, it was mostly made up of steel studs, drywall, wiring, conduit with a little copper and pvc pipe mixed in. I had my new XR, the saw in this thread and my really old 18v dewalt recip. I used the new XR, my partner used my old 20v and our apprentice got the 18v. I had 8 fully charged 18v packs for the apprentice and he burned through all of them in less than an hour. My partner went through 4 of the 5ah 20v packs and I only used 3 packs. This is Definitely by no means a Scientific test, but just to give an idea of what to expect. I switched up with my partner about half way through the demo and let him use the Brushless XR, he loved it and I hated using my old one again. The new shorter, lighter style is just much nicer to use, it's much less fatiguing on these longer type of jobs.

I own this and it's a great reciprocating saw. You can do flush cuts with the multi position blade clamp. I bought mine used for only 20 bucks less.

Bought this over the Black Friday sales for $109 + charger + battery. This isn't that great of a deal unless you have 20V charger/battery already.

I returned mine to Home Depot. I found it was heavy and overboard for my personal home improvement.

Is the brushless or a different model more advantageous to look into with a sawzall?

Ours walked off, and need a versatile replacement.

Depends on your needs. Brushless costs more, lasts longer, is more efficient, and generally generates more power/torque. If you're gonna use it a lot, go brushless. If not, brushed..

Most Sawzall are the same. Some have fixed blade positions, some have multi positions. There are hackzalls too for smaller jobs. Sawzall are generally the same, comes down to what brand you're invested in already

Is this massage gun-able? If so, can you link what else I would need to buy, please and thank you!
Uhh.... You want to turn a reciprocating saw into a "massage gun"? 😂🤔

I have this and then have the smaller hacksaw. Hacksaw is way lighter and better to me. I had a 1.5 ah battery and could maybe make 5 cuts before the battery would die

Great price for this saw, but l have to say that the brushless version (DCS367B) is a significant improvement over this one. If you're just doing average homeowner things around the house, and you're already in the dewalt 20v ecosystem this one should be fine. But if you plan on doing any lengthy work with a recip saw, I would highly recommend waiting for a deal on the brushless DCS367B, the better battery life and better ergonomics (lighter & shorter) are well worth it in my opinion.

I have the saw as well and while it does get the job done I sorely wish I saved up for the xr. It performs better if you have a high capacity xr battery. If you are using a smaller battery that comes with a lot of their drill kits, you are going to be shocked how quickly it dies.
