Kudos to TaiN3261 for posting the deal at $1,287. I found out a way to get it down to a RIDICULOUSLY low $1,199.
  1. Head to the special Lifemart URL [lenovo.com]
  2. Use passcode LIFEMART*GOLD to get in.
  3. Browse to the Yoga c940 14" (under Laptops -> 2-in-1).
  4. Add it to the cart.
  5. Instead of using the suggested discount code, use NEWYOGA25
  6. BOOM: $1,199!
YES: you have to do both: start from the URL with the passcode, and then switch the promo code. But it works! You'll get the BEST Yoga c940 14" for $1.199. That's a $630 savings.

Here's some more specific instructions for navigating to get the proper item and discount
  • Head to the special Lifemart URL [lenovo.com]
  • Use passcode Life*Mart20 to get in.
  • From the homepage, go to Laptops at the grey bar on the bottom. On the new page select 2-in-1. Then Browse to the Yoga c940 (14") and click "Learn More".
  • Click "View or Customize".
  • From the options, pick the Yoga C940 14" Mica (Part Number: 81Q9000JUS)
  • Add it to the cart.
  • Instead of using the suggested discount code, use NEWYOGA25
  • BOOM: $1,199!

It didn't work the first time when I tried to do customization but if you just add the item to cart, it works like a charm.

Great deal on all specs but does 4K resolution matter much on a 14" monitor?

Didn't work on C940 (15") so I guess only applies to the 14" models.

How do you get this to work with cashback sites? Does clicking on the link above not stop that?

scaling in windows is a lot better than it used to be but I'm constantly finding random apps that it just doesn't work for.

phones use scaling to get readability up. you end up using way more power with a higher res screen. I'm avoiding 4k screens on laptops wherever possible. its just not worth paying extra for way worse battery life and spotty scaling.

I'm on this laptop now. A couple notes: You cannot use those nifty USB-C break-away magnet adapters. This laptop goes to sleep when a magnet gets near the ports. All the 20V PD chargers I tried work, from 30W to 60W. It uses more than 30W when on so it slows the discharge in that setup. I have it turned down from 4k to 1080. Some apps don't scale properly and the text ends up too small to read at 4k. It also save some battery life at 1080. I turn it up pretty much just for looking at my camera's photos.

Edit: It does not use noticeably less power at 1080 resolution.

I prefer the 4k, scaling is fine and you really can see the difference especially with text.. the 4k is just so much cleaner looking. Also the 4k here is about 100nits brighter, 500 vs 400 for the FHD.

Hoping their ThinkPad Extreme gets a yoga version soon
