For those who do not want to pay for shipping and who cannot find on Amazon for a decent price, if you have an Ace Hardware nearby, you may be able to order these online for same-day pickup:

3M N95 Construction Respirator Valved White 10 pc @ 23.99

The "Cool Flow" valve is a must if you wear glasses (prevents mine from fogging up) and if you'll be wearing these for extended periods.

FYI: these DO NOT protect you from any virus! These only serve to prevent you from touching your nose or mouth with virus-contaminated hands. You'll also need to wear glasses or goggles.

Surgical masks will do the same thing, and for much cheaper.
That's not what CDC said in 2009 with the swine flu. Of course fit testing is needed.

Ask the healthcare workers in Wuhan how N95s worked out for them?

(hint: they're wearing Tyvek bunny suits with full face masks now).
Do you trust the CDC or kept in dark workers at the front lines?

Just because you are wearing N95 doesn't mean you are fully protected. It's a layer of protection along with good hygiene (hand wash) and facility with negative air flow. On top of that, are these Wuhan hospital workers fit tested for N95? You need to get fit tested for N95 to work properly. As for Wuhan hospital workers getting infect with N95 on, is there proof they were infected while using the N95 or caught it off work while not wearing a N95 mask? Just some questions to ponder on.

Like mentioned earlier, masks help but to dramatically reduce contaminants and to stop us from touching our noses and mouths. Eye glasses help too,

BUT...
"N95 respirators filter out most airborne particles from the surrounding air, preventing wearers from breathing in particles down to 0.3 microns in diameter. These types of masks are often used when air quality is poor due to wildfire smoke or pollution, and they're designed to be tightly fitted. However, the coronavirus is 0.12 microns in diameter. "

Having the respirators seems much better, however I wonder if people will re-use this type of mask for extended periods compared to the cheaper masks. I'd hate to see someone using the same respirator mask for a few weeks.

If I'm in a crammed subway or bus in a downtown big city, I'd want any mask if the outbreak dramatically worsens here.
