Just these speakers that I have long been waiting for to go on sale. I currently have the studio 230 and love them very much and have also heard the studio 590 and being a similar setup I would expect them to be great just a small step down from the 590.
Bought 4 of these when they were going for $199 ea refurbished. They sound excellent for that price, but unless you're desperate for speakers, I'd skip the $299 price tag and hold out for a better deal.

I think they are plenty good for 300 a piece. At 199 for refurbished is a good deal but that is still refurbished not new. I don't think anyone would be disappointed if they pay 300 for these.

These are a more conventional design with a dome tweeter in a waveguide. They are missing the compression driver arrangement in the 590's and other 5x0 studio speakers that is key to their charms.
Having said that, compared to the 590's these are a lot cheaper and would still be a good value at this price (and a great value at the $199). But these are totally different from the other studio line.
You must not be familiar with how speakers are sold.
Tower speakers tend to be sold individually, not as pairs.
Incorrect! Most speakers I've bought are sold in pairs. You mean there are morons who buy 1 speaker to listen in mono? Maybe you do, but both my ears work in stereo.

Well TBH it's not that uncommon of speakers being sold as one especially bookshelves.
As far as "morons" who listen in "mono" you might want to talk to all those people that preach of importance of "double blind test" like Mr Harmon who does those test in "mono".

I will have to side with Nuocmamstyle on this one. "Morons" might be a little aggro, but if one were to do a SD search for "speakers," literally every result is sold as a pair.

I'd go for the Infinity Reference speakers over these.
I have heard both and I prefer these much more
