Via Greentoe, authorized dealer is accepting offers at $2499 for the Sony X900F 85" 4K TV [greentoe.com] with free shipping and tax included (except WA and TN). This matches the lowest price observed at B&H at the beginning of the year (though I think that was taxable as of Jan 1).Offer remained valid for me for 48h

OP, what state are you in and what is your sales tax rate? I'm well aware that the offer and counteroffers for Greentoe include tax, but they typically collect tax which means you have to back the tax out of the offer to find out the true TV price they are accepting. Sales tax differs greatly from state to state which means these Greentoe deals end up being big YMMV's... Thanks.

Texas, 8.25% - back calculating, this means for me, the TV is $2300 or so (not sure what typical shipping rates are for something this large and/or whether it's common for sellers to charge for shipping)

Typically, shipping is "free" and included in the price. So, a person living in a state with no state sales tax (Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon) could offer $2,300... and in theory should be accepted...?

I'm in VA so I have a 5.3% sales tax so I could take that into account...?

Create an account and lowball offer like 2000 and see what they counter...doesn't hurt to see what comes back.

I offered $2300 and got a counter offer $2499 back - when I put in $2499, I had this accepted. Apparently vendors have the ability to set the lowest offer value that they will be notified about, so if you provide some kind of rediculous offer, the vendor will not receive anything to even provide some type of counter offer.

I went ahead and did that. They countered at $2,499. They had a note that this retailer does not charge tax in VA. That seems odd because all retailers that I've dealt with anymore have started to collect sales tax in VA. I'm not sure who the retailer is for this...

Hesitate, this one or Samsung Q70R 82inch, which is $2240 at Samsung EPP. There's 5% Rakuten rebate, and CA tax is 9% thus total price for Q70R is $2319. This x900f is $2499.
