If you read your circled part carefully, you will realize the description mentioned nothing about the batteries. Don't know why they put that promo description under something that's not related at all.
Granted, online it automatically added the circular saw without the option to select another tool in place of it.
I had printed the OP's pic and took it with me just in case it was needed.
I just got back from a local lowes and picked up the battery and charger set #1500190 AND the bare ratchet # 1332911 for a total of 124.52 with 10% military discount.
The floor store associates weren't aware of the sale, there were no signs of this sale.
Floor associates had to locate the battery/charger which was on a completely different area in the store.
The correct sale price was automatically adjusted at time of purchase.
Wrong. The Kobalt hand tools may be diminishing, but the power tools are expanding. As the other poster said, in the last couple of months they've come out with at least 3 new 24v tools.
Please stop spreading misinformation.
And that came from the CEO of Lowes or someone who can predict the future. The hand tools are not diminishing, they are COMPLETELY doing away with them. Lowes has no need for Kobalt brand any more. Go to the store and take a look at the location of the power tools and hand tool leftover and you will see everything with your own eyes.
They are replacing hand tools. Kobalt is going heavy into its power tool line, they have said they're releasing 20+ tools this year. So far they've released the ratchet, rotary tool, inflator, and the 4 slot charger.
They are not replacing anything, they are getting rid of what they have . . . go to lowes site and select randomly 5-10 hand tools and you will see that the "Free Store Pickup" and "Shipping & Delivery" is not available for most hand tools anymore. Kobalt is no longer making hand tools, period.
As for the power tools, Lowes has no interest promoting them. Walk into any Lowes and you will see who is taking the priority (Craftsman). It's a matter of time until the power tools are going to be out too.
I agree it does seem rather monstrous. Holding it in your hand though it feels balanced. It doesn't feel excessively heavy. I purchased this as a tight space medium duty ratchet tool where my 1/2" Kobalt pistol grip impact wrench won't fit.

The best place I've found is r/kobalttools, people have been posting new items that the stores accidentally set out.
