You might want to try it anyway - just because it's not on the sign doesn't necessarily mean it's not in the promo.

I finally bit and bought into this deal. Saw the same poster as the other posted, far less tools in the free selection. Tried ringing up the ratchet and still free. Might want to get in sooner than later, they will likely just change the free tool.

10 batteries?? Wow. Yeah, yesterday I bought the 3/8 ratchet and the air blower for air mattresses, very happy with both. Air blower was only $30 and although I specifically bought it for an airmattress, it does a good job of just blowing dust away, i'll be using it way more than expected.

Lowes is replacing Kobalt with Craftsman. I would stay away from Kobalt brand all together. All one needs to do is to go to Lows and you will see a very small segment of Kobalt tools and several aisles of Craftsman tools.

I like Kobalt tools but at this point would stay away from anything that has a warranty.
Then why is Kobalt creating they're prograde XTR line?

The xtr line is geared more towards professionals/contractors, people that will use the tools everyday. The normal line will still be more than enough for the average homeowner.

it does not matter what Kobalt is doing if Lowes has no plan for it's future. take a look at the history of the Kobalt hand tools . . . it was an overnight decision to get rid of it (walk into any Lowes and you will see the evidence of it).

you can also see Lowes priority to each brand. Craftsman takes all the prime sale location and Kobalt takes the dusty backstage. how long do you think this will last before the inevitable.

look, we can speculate about it all day long, what we do know is that Craftsman is a household name that sells, Kobalt is not. Lowes has reduced Kobalt's already small market presence to practically zero by killing Kobalt's hand tools, and Lowes has displayed signs of no hesitation of killing Kobalt as a brand.

Kobalt will now have to fend for itself, and with such disadvantage to Craftsman (Lowes new fan brand) I personally think the writing is on the wall.

do a search on both brands for say "hand tools". you will see the local available inventory of kobalt is significantly lower than craftsman. most kobalt needs to be shipped to store, or check other stores. you can also tell what is selling the most because craftsman items have more reviews in contrast kobalt per item has less reviews.

now that many people are shopping online, kobalt may get a bit more traffic . . . but inside the store it's clear which brand is getting all the priority.
