note - the vent to release the steam during drying is located at the bottom kickplate of the dishwasher

for those with a laminate countertop this is a great thing. for those with hardwood floors in their kitchen, not so much a great thing to be releasing steam onto the floor and potential for collected condensation to drip down

another thing to note. while the top-mount controls and the clean front with the pull handle looks cool, if you use the countertop surface above the dishwasher to prepare foods you will be making contact with that handle. i used to install whirlpools with similar designs in my rentals, then had tenants complain that the handle sticks too far out. the dishwasher was slid all the way back as far as it could go. if you look at the photos you will see installations showing exactly what i am talking about. if the dishwasher isn't in a space you are using the countertop then it's not an issue

as far as the reviews of people complaining that it doesn't clean properly etc. for dishwashers that have sensors, you actually want to run the cycle with that sensor crap turned OFF and run heavy soil every time. problem is, many manufacturers are not doing a good enough of a job explaining this. i've gotten so fed up with the bells and whistles getting thrown into appliances now, especially dishwashers and washing machines, that i just buy base model dial GEs. if i need stainless i will pay a little extra for the stainless version. bc base models typically don't come with insulation blankets or insulation behind the kickplate, i will add that myself using dense insulation from rolls i already have. that modification to my dial GE dishwashers results in sound equivalency of the Whirlpool gold series i used to have. the base model dial GE models do a better job of cleaning believe it or not, despite not having the tower sprayer for the upper level. it just chugs along, no sensor crap, and does a thorough cleaning. and since it's not trying to achieve some level of energy star rating, it actually fully drys the dishes. i actually just purchased (4) additional GE dial dishwashers for $268 from Home Depot for 4 new rental units i got at the end of last year, i think the special sale is still going on. that price is for white and black models though

just some food for thought (no pun intended)

I've saved a lot of time and money by ripping out my dishwasher and disposal. Food waste goes in the compost bin and dishes dry in a rack.

How does that save time and money exactly?

I don't ever have to buy, fix, or replace those items ever again. There is also more room under my sink and under the counter.
