My signal is very weak to my outside cameras, so stronger signal is my my concern. Would this be a good choice? My old Linksys E3000 works, but barely.

I've been making the same comparison. All in all the two routers use the same antennas BUT the X6S has one of the 5ghz bands nerfed for some reason being a Costco exclusive. So advantage goes to the C4000. Also the C4000 has a 1.8ghz quad core vs the X6S dual core. Everything else is essentially the same. Netgear has more firmware support normally but this may not be true for this particular X6S since it's a Costco exclusive. TP link firmware updates are unfortunately few and far between. My research is leading me towards the C4000.

Is the range on this an improvement from an ac1900 Netgear? Recently moved and have more area to cover now

Anybody recommend an ax adapter for a laptop? Anything perform nice that's USB and cheap?

Otherwise, unless this is putting out a better AC signal...

Go buy a tp link m9 deco from Costco instead of this. Mesh network is better option for you

Not familiar with this brand but reviews are a hit or miss. Given Costco return policy this should put some at ease.

While it has good specs, it's a shame they don't include WiFI 6 =( I currently have a TP-Link router and it's been awesome - I've been using it with reliable connections for years now.

This is the Costco version of the Archer AC20 which is the Wirecutter's current recommended router for most people.

I had the Archer C3200 (earlier model) which was rock solid until something happened with the WAN port and my cable modem. Looking to pick this up as a replacement...

I bought this router from Costco in December 2018 and it has been solid. I have 25+ devices from laptops to cameras to streaming devices connected at any given time. It has worked very well. A lot of manual setting options if so desired or put it in auto and let it go. I upgraded froma Netgear 6700 dual band. I also added a TP link extender.
